(Sumter, SC) – On Tuesday, October 15, 2013, Reverend Leon Winn, D.D., will announce his candidacy as a Republican for South Carolina’s Sixth Congressional District at four locations throughout the district.
Rev. Winn said, “The only way to bring about change in our country is to change the people we are electing to Congress. The hard working folks of the Sixth District deserve someone who will work every day to better their lives and break the gridlock in Washington. It’s time to clean house and get this district working again.”
Rev. Winn is a graduate of Morris College and holds Doctor of Divinity degree from the Overcoming Outreach School of Religion and is a 16-year veteran of the United States Air Force. Rev. Winn and his wife Chris have three daughters and two grandchildren.

“Overcoming Outreach School of Religion” . . . quite a mouthful. But google it and there ain’t much there . . .anyone have any info?
No need to. Anything would be an improvement.
If he spends a million dollars he might get 40 % of the vote. Sort of a GOP Alvin Green.
IF he can win the election and live by his comments in this interview, and IF he can survive in the senate on his stated principles without becoming corrupted, then he should be able to accomplish some good for his district.

For a minute there TBG was thinking someone should pull the good Reverend aside and gently inform him that he is running for a House seat and not a Senate seat. Then TBG’s morning caffeine kicked his reading comprehension into forward gear and he realized the linked article was from a year ago when Rev. Winn was running for STATE Senate…
Thanks! I didn’t catch that since I was between reading, posting, and waiting for my first cup of coffee to brew.
Ya know……we wonder what this Pastor’s electric bill has been over the years…..and his cell phone taxes to boot.
These two issues alone will crush CLYBURN. Those Obama phones may be free but the service and taxes are being paid by WHO.
I may have to meet this man…….
