According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 37-year-old Swede is at the top of a list of contenders for the role – along with 31-year-old Irish actor Jamie Dornan.
Dakota Johnson – daughter of Miami Vice star Don Johnson and longtime Hollywood hottie Melanie Griffith – has been cast in the role of Anastasia Steele.
Fifty Shades of Grey – which explores bondage/ discipline, dominance/ submission, sadism/ masochism (BDSM) and other sexual proclivities in explicit detail – is the first book in a trilogy that has sold more than 70 million copies worldwide.
