GOP Pollster: To Shutdown, Or Not To Shutdown

Frank Luntz is a Republican pollster. He’s written several books including one entitled Words That Work, a copy of which S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley inscribed to this website’s founding editor way back in July of 2007.

No really … she did.

Anyway, Luntz gave a presentation to select Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives last week in which he argued in favor of a government shutdown if it meant defunding Barack Obama’s socialized medicine law.

Of course shortly after Luntz’s presentation he gave a few of the lawmakers precisely the opposite advice: That whatever they did, they should not risk a government shutdown.

Huh? What gives? Why the conflicting counsel?

According to Luntz, a government shutdown over Obamacare is solid political ground on which the GOP should stand and fight – he’s just not convinced the “Republican” leadership in the U.S. Congress (House Speaker John Boehner, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor) are up for the fight.

He’s right …

All Boehner, McConnell and Cantor know how to do is cave … as evidenced by their handling of this issue up to this point (see here and here).

That has already happened. The new starting point is not if, but when. It’s just a date.

Oh, y’all missed a party. The SHUT’ERDOWN blowout was just that. Joy, peacefulness. A true sense of tranquility.

Unfortunately the other Obutthead in the House will muck it up. Why the hell was, crop can’t find the weenies name, in the house telegraphing to the senate and Oshitforbrains that they might have another offer… 72 HOURS prior to the original house vote.

Oh well, keeps the hangovers to a minimum I guess. :) HAGD!! :)

Shutdown is good for Republicans, but only if right wingers like those who post on Cato or NetRightDaily for Bill Wilson and Howie Rich can pin the blame for the shutdown on the Democrats, right?

Why can’t the GOP just pass a bill continuing funding to avoid the shutdown and do something about the ACA afterwards? Oh, yeah, because they are the obstructionists.

Today the exchanges are open, so like the Republican limp dicked tactics matter.

The exchanges aren’t open for congress or their staffer, if it’s good enough for We the People, why not them?

Speaking of limp dicks why can’t the President live by ACA, if it’s good enough for you Smirks it should be good enough for him.

Because Snarks lives by the 2 rule system. 1. Democraps are right. 2. When they are wrong, see rule 1.
