More Gamecock Sideline Shoving

University of South Carolina quarterback Dylan Thompson loves Jesus … a lot.

“The thing I pray for at the beginning of the game is not to win or lose I just want Jesus to be more famous at the end of the game than he was at the beginning,” Thompson told WLTX TV 19 (CBS – Columbia, S.C.) last week. “What that means is ‘Jesus, I want you to be made famous in my life.'”

“If you are chasing after Jesus who is famous in your life then you will try and emulate the things Jesus is about and I don’t think anyone is perfect or going to nail it every single time but if you do know Jesus you will be a little more careful about what decisions you make and pursue what God is calling you to do,” Thompson continued.

Really? You mean like deciding to shove the crap out of one of your teammates on the sidelines?

Take a look …

Yeah … that’s Thompson shoving/ grabbing strong safety Kadetrix Marcus, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound junior out of Stone Mountain, Georgia during the third quarter of USC’s 28-25 win over Central Florida on Saturday.

The incident occurred moments after Thompson had scored a two-yard touchdown run to give the No. 12/13 Gamecocks (3-1, 1-1 SEC) their first lead of the game.

Clearly whatever Thompson said after shoving his teammate was intended as inspiration, not confrontation – which is more than can be said for another shoving incident which occurred on the Gamecock sideline during the team’s loss to Georgia earlier this month.

Thompson will start the next two games for USC with senior quarterback Connor Shaw out of action with a shoulder injury. The Gamecocks host SEC East rival Kentucky on Saturday and travel to Arkansas on October 12.

Zoom-boy can’t keep his emotions in check? Had that shove been more than what it was claimed to have been, I would have finished it in the locker room.

Obvious to anyone who has ever played the game that was an effort to fire somebody up. Not confrontational as you have suggested.

Sic Willie, you must be desperate for any kind of negative news and hope that your blog will create a following? If you knew Dylan, as many people do, you would understand the deep love he has for all of his team members and they for him.

You’re the most pathetic excuse for a human around. Lie, slander, twist reality-just another day for a sorry twit like you. Dylan Thompson has more class in one skin cell than you’ll ever have. I guess you can’t find some poor woman to beat up on so you just pick on and make up stuff about a stand-up guy. You really are the poster boy for white trash. How about do eveyone in S.C. a favor and take a nap in a closed garage with the engine running.

For a change, this actually looks like an accurate description from what is shown above. I’m not sure what you are so angry about.

A little reminiscent of the “Jeff Gordon/Jeff Burton” tussle a few years ago where Gordon got in Burton’s face while completely kitted out helmet, neck brace and all. If it really was an attempt at “motivation”, Thompson could use a few lessons in the technique. From the looks of the by-standers and Marcus, maybe that’s just his style. I haven’t played football in 33 years but the last guy that put hands on me like that found himself on the ground wondering what just happened.

regardless of if it was motivational or simply an angry wakeup call, Thompson is [now starting] QB and the leader of the entire team. if he wants to give someone an earfull thats his purview. seems like it worked too.
And im a clemson fan

I’m curious to see what Thompson will do with more playing time. Hope it works out.
