COLUMBIA, S.C. (September 16, 2013) – South Carolina and UCF will meet at noon ET on Saturday, September 28, it was announced today. The game will be televised on either ABC, ESPN or ESPNU.
The contest will mark the Gamecocks’ first trip to Bright House Networks Stadium (45,323) in Orlando. Carolina has won all three previous meetings with the Knights, but all three of those contests were played in Columbia, the most recent coming in 2005. That season opening contest was also the first game coached by Steve Spurrier at South Carolina. The Gamecocks came away with a 24-15 win that night.
The Gamecocks (2-1, 1-1 SEC) are ranked 12th in this week’s Associated Press poll and 13th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll. UCF (3-0) is coming off a big win at Penn State and is listed among the other teams receiving votes in both polls. Both teams are off this week.
The network that will carry the game will be decided following this week’s action.

Wait. This can not be correct. For years Carl’s Jr fans have ridiculed Clemson fans when Clemson was assigned noon kickoffs.
Yes. And now WE have the noon kickoff, so ridicule away. That way I can just answer:
4
Your IQ? The number of SEC championships won by Carl’s Jr? The number of victories that Carl’s Jr needs to even the series with Clemson? Help me out here.
The number of consecutive victories we now have over the kittens from Pickens.
Hey that’s probably the cause for another ring for Carl’s Jr players.
As a former (Golden) Knight, I’m looking forward to this game! I say SC wins though. UCF only won games behind my back; they could never win when I was actually watching.
Once a Knight, always a Knight.
Especially if you say “Ni!”
Check back here for my prediction before you put your money down for the Super Bowl . I’ve picked 19 losers – in a row!
That streak is more impressive than when the NFC won 13 SBs in a row from ’84-’96. Hope you make it to 20!
Thanks – there aren’t many achievements I can brag about.
I am more worried about this game than Vandy. Your offensive line outweighs our defensive line by 25 lbs/man. You have a great 226 lb running back. Those seem to be our kryptonite.
I think Carolina will win, but need to take your guys seriously, or this is an upset special.
Prediction:
USC 28
UCF 24
An upset is a possibility, no doubt. Might even get UCF ranked! But I’m gonna call it an easy win for the Cocks, 34-17
OK, I’m in. UCF will surprise Carolina and race to a goal, then an onside kick will force the gamecocks to defend their goal line. This time, Carolina forces a fumble into the goal, but the defensive player will be so dumb he will cause a safety. That’s UCF’s points. Carolina will play down to their opponent’s potential. and get only three to four touchdowns. Final score: UCF 9, USC 24.
I don’t EVER do this, so I’m already feeling humiliated.
well, it isn’t televised in the upstate
