Good idea to paint yourself in a corner. I presume she has a crystal ball that told her all the possible unforeseen budget busters won’t occur. This pablum is for the masses.

Hey, Nancy! South Carolina gets $1.35 back from the feds for every $1 it sends to DC! http://articles.latimes.com/2012/jan/14/nation/la-na-south-carolina-federal-spending-20120114 Some estimates place it closer to $2. Will you pledge to only take $1-for-$1 for SC, or just keep taking CA/NY/NJ’s money? Consider how dirt-ass poor SC is before answering. Thanks!

So far Mace’s campaign is about a 1/2 a snail ahead of Sheheen’s

Oh jeez.
She must have missed macro economics in school. Oh, right, she went to the Citadel. Nevermind.

You do… you do realize there are multiple theories of macroeconomics, right?

Don’t blame The Citadel for Mace.
She used the Federal Government and Bill Clinton to get into the school.
She’s a nut job we couldn’t expel.

Bydlak- he was Ron Paul’s fundraiser in the 2008 campaign. Glad to see he’s still doing work.

A politician who’s dumb and/or desperate enough to sign a pledge like that is not someone I’d vote for in a million years.

Americans send too much money to Washington and seem to get less and less in return.

She -does- know that SC is a welfare state, right? I think she needs to rephrase that to “Americans send too much money to South Carolina and seem to get less and less in return.”

Hopefully she won’t be one of the standard Republicans that cuts food stamps while rubber stamping billions in subsidies to big businesses.

Any elected official or candidate who makes or signs a pledge to anything other than the United States Constitution should be immediately prohibited from holding office. (Then again, there are plenty who do make the pledge to the US constitution and immediately forget it, and they should be voted out ASAP…)

It’s precisely because she has studied economics that she’s signing that pledge. Increased spending greatly reduces the resources available in the market and causes unemployment, higher prices and taxes. Contrary to what big government types promise to the unemployed and young voters, government spending increases the burden on the unemployed or the underemployed. Most politicians make promises of “giving” something to constituents that they don’t actually have because government doesn’t create anything. Every one of those promises made by politicians, has to be kept by a producer in the market. Mace and others are doing just the opposite: They’re pledging to keep money in the economy and allowing producers the ability to create wealth. Political posturing is when a candidate gives lip-service to a position without anything to substantiate their claim. This pledge is the opposite: It puts added pressure on the candidate and increases their credibility. Don’t believe me? Ask Curtis Bostic and Elizabeth Colbert Busch; both of whom lost their races, in large part because they refused to sign this pledge.

There’s that fork in the road again. You can’t possibly know that their failure to sign the pledge was the reason they lost to Mr. Sanford. My feeling is that they lost to Mr. Sanford because, like him or not, he is a far superior politician and he out gunned them at the polls.

OMG..a pledge signer……..The only cure for that is to stay out of politics. If you care for this woman help her with the cure.

I like the idea of offsets to spending. I hate the idea of signing pledges. Many of those who signed Grover Norquist’s pledge have come to regret it.

Nancy Mace = Tricky Nicky Haley.

There is no difference.

Mace is just as screwed up as Haley and would be a disaster for South Carolina and the USA if she ever got into the US Senate.

She’s a Right Wing Fanatic with no common sense and a very disturbed view of the world. She will be getting very little support from Citadel Grads. Most of whom despise her for not representing what The Citadel is all about: Positive Leadership.

Not Jihad, right wing crap!!

Dear Nancy Mace, your efforts in signing this pledge is a great information war fare tactic….excellent. Question is….how will it roll with everyday South Carolina voters and residents. How could this step and pledge be used against US Senator Lindsey Graham in a debate. How could this be used to illustrate spending pledges that US Senator Lindsey Graham has made with the “Syrian Rebels”..? ….or Immigration reform..?

Furthermore, just how will these spending pledges be verified so that voters can be assured that You will hold yourself accountable…? How verifiable is US Senator Lindsey Graham..?

Nancy……..you need to turn up your volume….
