September 12, 2013 – Charleston, S.C. – Senator Lindsey Graham commenting on a CNN panel discussion stated “So at the end of the day, if I were the president I would act after this speech if diplomacy fell apart and I wouldn’t come back to Congress.”
Nancy Mace, candidate for U.S. Senate, blasted Sen. Graham on his disregard for the Constitution and his continued disregard for the opinion of the people of South Carolina. Mace says, “Lindsey Graham proves once again just how out of touch he remains. Sen. Graham is now calling for President Obama to act in Syria without authorization from Congress. This view does not represent the majority of people in South Carolina who believe the U.S. needs to remain out of Syria’s civil war.”
Mace added, “The unfortunate reality in Syria is that we have no good options. Virtually every conservative Republican and activist group is opposed to getting involved in Syria. Yet again, Sen. Graham is completely out of touch with conservatives on an important issue. He should listen to his constituents.”
