After remaining with his wife during labor and delivery, the proud new father, wanting to be as sympathetic as possible, took his wife’s hand and said emotionally, “Tell me how it was, darling, how it actually felt to give birth.”
“OK, honey, smile as hard as you can.”
Beaming down at his wife and newborn child, the father said, “That’s not so hard.”
She continued, “Now stick a finger in each corner of your mouth.”
He obeyed, with a broad smile.

“Still not too tough,” he mumbles.

Birth rates for teenage mothers hit another historic low last year in
the United States, government researchers announced on Friday.
The number of babies born to teenagers was about 305,000, less than half
the peak of nearly 645,000 in 1970, according to the new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The teen birth rate has been falling since 1991, and has been cut in half since then.
Bill Albert of the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy called the drop a “stunning turnaround.”
Experts attribute the decline to a range of factors, including less sex and more use of contraception.
Declining birth rate + declining labor participation rate + aging population + expanded entitlements = an unsustainable demographic/economic conditions.
Something that can’t go on forever, won’t.
