For years, the University of South Carolina football team had a bad case of fashion schizophrenia …
In fact prior to the arrival of head coach Steve Spurrier in Columbia, Gamecock football players went through uniforms designs faster than a petulant teenager goes through unwanted prom dresses.
Over the last few years, though, USC has worn garnet (home) and white (away) jerseys almost exclusively – with only minor modifications to their style. In fact when the Gamecocks vary from these colors, things go poorly (i.e. 2011 v. Auburn and 2012 v. LSU).
That’s why it’s not surprising that sixth-ranked USC is going all-white for its big game “between the hedges” in Athens, Georgia this weekend.
Take a look …

USC last wore all-white during its 27-17 win over Clemson in Death Valley last year. Prior to that, the Gamecocks typically wore white jerseys with garnet pants on the road.
Kickoff at Sanford Stadium is set for 4:30 p.m. EDT. ESPN is televising the game nationally with Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge and Holly Rowe calling the action.
No. 11/12 Georgia has been installed as a three-point favorite over the Gamecocks …
