The US shouldn’t be involved, but something should definitely be done. Why can’t the US “support” another country and let them do the strategic bombing? Why does the US have to be the ones firing the missiles? The EU doesn’t have missiles? Turn Israel loose on them.

OPEC countries have plenty of money to fight a war in Syria. Why not let then do it?

Arab states urge action against Syrian government

(Excerpt)
CAIRO (Reuters) – Arab states on Sunday urged the international
community to take action against the Syrian government over a chemical
gas attack that killed hundreds of civilians.

The final
resolution passed by an Arab League meeting in Cairo urged the United
Nations and international community to “take the deterrent and necessary
measures against the culprits of this crime that the Syrian regime
bears responsibility for”.

The League foreign ministers also said those responsible for the attack should face trial, as other “war criminals” have.

I have read that the Arab League, as “Centrist View” points out, has stated that there needs to be an intervention in Syria and I tend to agree, on humanitarian grounds, but that doesn’t mean the US should do the heavy lifting. The Arab states have significant military assets that could be brought to bear in Syria. They may lack logistics, intelligence and planning capabilities and that is where the US could get involved, a supporting role for our allies in that region.

The Arab states need Assad out, he is a puppet to Iran and helps Iran export terror. Iran is a serious threat to the surrounding Arab states. I believe the Arab states are slow/reluctant to act because the terror Iran exports has worked to a degree on those states and they worry it would get worse. Its time for them to man up clean up heir own sandbox.

Also, John Kerry could prove his mettle as a statesman and bring the Arab states into an alliance that would resolve the civil war in Syria but I just don’t see that capability in him.

Israel probably doesn’t want to see the Arab states united in military action against Syria. If successful, it might give them ideas.

America has better things to do than police the world. Obama gave Bush shit for the war in Iraq when he was in Congress… Now he’s doing the same exact thing in Syria.

Those who are actually anti-war just get shunned by the media and hamstrung in other ways by the pro-war politicians and their buddies. The people speaking out against war but turning into hypocrites when it comes down to it are merely there for the illusion of choice.
