U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (RINO-S.C.) is hugely unpopular with a sizable chunk of South Carolina Republican voters for the innumerable left-of-center positions he’s taken over the years.
Fiscal conservatives and supporters of privacy rights are peeved at Graham for supporting tax hikes and domestic spying – while many rank-and-file establishment Republicans are livid with him for supporting liberal activist judges and a lax immigration policy.
That’s why Graham is refusing to meet with limited government groups – and why he appears to be choosing his “Republican” audiences very carefully.
According to one limited government advocate, Graham supporters are trying to keep his critics away from a $12-per-person breakfast meeting scheduled for Wednesday morning in Mount Pleasant, S.C.
In fact longtime establishment Republican activist Charm Altman is reportedly telling Graham critics the breakfast event is full after the email invitation fell into the hands of the “wrong people.”
“Apparently only a few hand-picked Graham supporters are going to be allowed inside,” activist Daniel Encarnacion tells FITS. “We’re going to try to go anyway.”
Interesting …
The breakfast event is being promoted by the Charleston County Republican Party, which recently elected “fair fax” advocate John Steinberger as its leader. We’ll have to see how Steinberger chooses to handle this situation, but in our view it defeats the purpose of a “constituent meeting” if Graham is permitted to address an audience of exclusively friendly faces.
Graham has drawn three primary challengers in his bid for a third term in the Democratic-controlled U.S. Senate – Lowcountry businesswoman Nancy Mace, S.C. Sen. Lee Bright and former congressional candidate Richard Cash.

Supportive audience bad, adversarial good?
Who’s kidding who here?
They oughta let Lee Bright in.That guy is so damn dumb he will probably inadverdently endorse Graham!
Pick/select the audience to make oneself more favorable in the eyes of the ignorant???
Like that ain’t done every day of the week
Give me a fucking break!!!
No new news here on that topic
Lindsey is afraid of his constituents who elected him…this article is very important; it shows how really unpopular he is and how there is a very good chance he will lose the primary.
To be expected of him. Politicians do this in general to some degree by only doing interviews with outlets that will view them favorably, but this is directly brushing off constituents.
Didn’t Graham not show up to the debate last time he won? Graham is smart to obliterate any negative or potentially negative coverage, it helps secure the dumb vote.
Graham and Haley will be smiling in November 2014, mark my words.
Why is he so afraid of a real town hall?

It wasn’t meant to be sent out publicly by the Charleston GOP.
In other news, water is wet. Both sides play this game at every public event they hold. This was written Saturday night–don’t you have anything better to do?
ANYone but Lindsey, 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t care for Graham but he will be our Senator again.
Lindsey would find a friendly crowd more in line with his morals at interstate truck stops.
I still want to hear what the others have to say. I know what Graham has done and I don’t like inconsistency – he says one thing and does another.
The fag.
Saw Lindsey with McCain at the WH today.
Lindsey was backlit by the afternoon sun and that yeller color dye on his haid needs to GO!
It makes him look more froot loopy that ever.
I’m not a fan of Lindsey Graham. He’s been in the Senate too long and is infected with Inside-The-Beltway-Syndrome. But here’s what bugs me: RINO used to mean that a person was literally “Republican In Name Only”. In other words, a Republican whose voting record is indistinguishable from that of a Democrat. Yet, so called RINO Graham has a 92% conservative voting record. RINO has become to mean that a politician is deemed insufficiently conservative. Too many of his opponents can’t seem to get beyond claiming that he or she is the “True Conservative” as if no other explanation was needed.
What saves Graham, in part, may be that his most detestable detractors (“Steve” comment below) make him seem likeable by comparison.
Senator Lindsey Graham is picking his crowd..??
Really..?
Well you can just tell Senator Graham that we are picking our Senator’s too…….

as a matter of fact, you can tell him we know citizens who want to WIN a WAR …too…!!!
We are FED ….up..!! Does Senator Graham understand who he is kissing every time he goes to the GAS pump..?
Maybe we need to elect Senator Graham to be the “Ra” of ….”Kurdistan”..!!
