I’m taking my eldest son to this week’s season opening University of South Carolina football game, which in years past has meant a trip to the Jewelry Warehouse store to pick up the latest Gamecock football jerseys from Under Armour.
Not this year …
There’s a new official Under Armour retailer in town – Gamecock Stop. Located on 2701 Rosewood Drive in downtown Columbia, S.C. (on the way to Williams Brice Stadium), Gamecock Stop offers South Carolina fans something Jewelry Warehouse doesn’t – the ability to customize jerseys.
Any name, any number. And you can choose from all three colors – garnet, black or white.
Take a look at the three I picked up …

Yeah … that No. 7 jersey is pretty solid isn’t it?
Gamecock Stop is a small, family-owned outfit that’s finding creative ways to attract business in an increasingly tough economy: Giving customers what they want and making it easy for them to shop.

Want your own “Freak” jersey? You can order it online now (click here) or visit the store in person.
In the fast-paced big-box world of collegiate apparel, Gamecock Stop is a unique custom shop and an awesome place to find all your official USC Under Armour gear – not to mention garments and accessories from Fripp & Folly, Pennington and Bailes and The Heart Knot jewelry.
Check ’em out …

IMHO, grown men shouldn’t wear jerseys to games.
Not the case for the majority in Columbia
I agree. Grown men that wear jerseys of whatever team or player, just to sit and watch a game….I have never gotten it. Sorry, leave them for the kids.
What do you wear to theatre, ballet, and opera, snob?
I’ll be looking forward to fashion commentary from you and JORTS,at halftime…
How bout just a garnet and black jock strap?
How bout just a garnet and black jock strap?
So the Freak jersey is for Mrs. Sic, I assume?
I hope this doesn’t make TBG some sort of Rex Ryanesque perv…but I’ve always thought women in football jerseys are dayum sexxy.
How does one tell which entries on this site are “paid-for” to either advertise the buyer’s business or advance the buyer’s personal or political agenda? Oh yeah…all of them are.
Agree with JORTS. Jerseys are for kids, people that are required to wear the jersey for participation in the appropriate sporting event, and douchebags. Which one are you?
I guess I’m a douchebag. And nobody paid me anything to write this. I’m still too stupid to realize I could be charging for things like this.
If Gamecock Stop won’t pay you to run it, Jewelry Warehouse might pay you to not run it…..
—- way too late, and Sic is just sharing an interesting experience – +5
Folks is a jersey wearer, I don’t think this shocks anyone
Also do the decent thing and put an advertisement notice on your pay-for-articles
TBG was “Cheapskate” back then… but I remember you from the old DFIG blog. Ole Chili and Willie Mac would be having a conniption about now. Miss the football pick-em contests. Good times
OUCH!
My eyes!

FYI: The new JW in Lexington can customize USC and Tater jerseys while you wait.
Jadeveon Clowney can’t make a dime for his work but the University and Gamcock Stop can put his number and nickname on a jersey and sell it for $80. If Jadeveon is lucky he won’t get injured and lose millions of dollars while making a mint for USC. Way to support a slavery, Massa’ Will.
Clowney gets room, board, a “college education” and *vocational training* for a job that will pay him more in his first year than most of us will make in a lifetime.
The “college education” that D1 athletes get is generally worthless because most aren’t prepared to do the work or are pushed into joke majors. Clowney could have played in the NFL after his freshman year if he weren’t locked out of a job by the NFLPA and owners. He doesn’t need any vocational training.
