S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley (RINO-Lexington) brought in three out-of-state governors in an effort to draw a crowd to her reelection kickoff event in Greenville, S.C. this weekend.

It didn’t work …

In fact Haley’s so-called “movement” completely failed to materialize, leaving the governor on the receiving end of some unflattering mainstream media attention.

“In terms of size and excitement, the event failed to meet expectations,” noted The Daily Beast.

Reuters pegged the size of Haley’s crowd at sixty – less than half the number we were provided yesterday by Haley supporters. CNN estimated the crowd at “about 100.”

Democrats pounced on the lack of enthusiasm for Haley’s kickoff event.

“Despite bringing in (three) big-name out-of-state governors to help her build a crowd, Nikki Haley barely turned out more supporters than protesters for her big reelection announcement in deep-red Greenville County yesterday,” S.C. Democratic Party spokeswoman Kristin Sosanie said. “The anemic crows shows that voters – even Republicans – have had it with Nikki Haley’s failures.”

A damning photo has been making the rounds in Republican circles comparing Haley’s poorly attended rally with the packed house that showed up for U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan’s “Faith and Freedom” barbecue rally held a few hours later.

Take a look …

Ouch …

Additionally, a Republican Party operative tells FITS a crowd of nearly 300 is expected for a barbecue event on Tuesday evening featuring U.S. Reps. Mick Mulvaney and Trey Gowdy.

“That will make Nikki’s announcement the third largest GOP event this week,” the operative said.

National operatives have been blowing up our phone all morning expressing shock at the paltry crowd drawn by Haley – who welcomed Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker to her event.

“Those pictures are embarrassing,” one Washington, D.C.-based limited government advocate told us. “I can’t imagine what those governors were thinking.”

Haley has struggled to draw crowds ever since she was abandoned by the Tea Party a few months into her disastrous first term in office (here and here). However given the time her campaign spent promoting this event – including personal appeals by the three visiting governors – we expected her to get at least a few hundred people to turn out (especially in the middle of diehard “Republican” Greenville).

Oh well …

This is funny.
Forget the reality shows being made along the coast. A better one would be following nikki around while she tries to get herself re-elected. Now that would be a hilarious hit!

How about a title for the show?

Well, didn’t we have Wilson campaigning “Joe for jobs”?

That seemed to work.

Nikki’s version: “Jobs for jobs”

This shows how discombobulated the SCGOP is: two major events bringing in separate big names on the same evening within 30 miles of each other. These dipshits just can’t shoot straight.

I disagree. This is the All Haley All the Time channel from now till she realizes it.

Fourth largest GOP event, actually. Tim Scott spoke to a packed house at the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce luncheon Monday. Standing room only.

When the “crowd” is that small, it seems that the reporters could forego the estimations and just, you know, count. At any rate, reliable estimates shouldn’t vary by more than 5 or 10 with this few people.

When you subtract reporters, family members and staff belonging to the visiting governors, how much of the “crowd” contains actual supporters?

ZERO

Less than 30.

She does look extremely happy in all of the photos I’ve seen. The reason is that when she is THE STAR of the show she practically glows. And she didn’t forget to point that finger!

She does indeed look happy.

TBG has noted before, that in most photos, she looks umm…constipated.

TBG notes two recent FITSNEWS headlines : “Nikki Haley’s “Movement” and “Nikki Haley:The Movement Continues”.

Having her dad show up didn’t do her any favors. If my dad looked like a Pakastani, I would ask him to stay home.

If you want a larger crowd, don’t schedule the event to begin in the afternoon when many people are still at work. Schedule it in the evening or on the weekend.

Photos of Jeff Duncan BBQ event. Looks like Senator Scott made it to Anderson after introducing the Governor in Greenville. Wonder why she was not invited?

The three other governors looked like dummies sitting there. Those guys are supposed to be power players in the GOP? They must have been there only to repay some sort of debt to Haley. I wonder what they said on their conference call later (excluding Nikki) that evening. Perhaps I shouldn’t shoot darts at Nikki for a while because I almost feel sorry for her now.

Well damn, looks like the key to drawing a large crowd is bringing barbeque. I guess not being a complete failure helps a little, though.

It’s just embarrassing. Besides, the “power player” governors don’t really have any clout around here to the common folks. Most probably wouldn’t know who they were anyway.

Gimme free barbecue….nom, nom, nom.

When our Funding Editor first read about Trikki Nikki’s (bowel) “Movement” on SC, she immediately ordered two cases of extra strength Preparation H.

She has started adding a few squirts of Preparation H to her nightly triple Black Jack and Metamucil cocktails. She says…

“…that sh@t is easier to swallow than another term for Trikki Nikki.”
