BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference released its men’s basketball league schedule for the 2014 campaign on Tuesday. The schedule, which features an 18-game slate, will see each of South Carolina’s conference contests broadcast with five games to be aired on the ESPN family of networks, nine on the SEC Network and two on both FSN and CSS. The Gamecocks will host nine league contests at Colonial Life Arena next season, including matchups with LSU, Texas A&M, Kentucky and defending SEC Regular-Season Champion, Florida.
South Carolina will face Florida, Texas A&M, Georgia, Ole Miss and Auburn in home-and-home series in 2014.
Each of the 126 games of the 2014 SEC slate will be available to be seen from anywhere in the nation. ESPN or ESPN2 will televise 31 contests, ESPNU 18 and CBS Sports six each. Additionally, eight games will be offered on ESPN3. The SEC’s games on ESPN platforms are exclusively branded as the “SEC on ESPN.”
The Gamecocks begin conference action on the road for the third-straight season with a trip to Florida (Jan. 8, 7 p.m. ET, CSS), before hosting LSU (Jan. 11, 1:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network) at Colonial Life Arena the following weekend.
Carolina will play three of the next four contests on the road through the middle of the month, first traveling to Texas A&M (Jan. 15, 8 p.m. ET, SEC Network), before the lone home contest in the stretch, hosting 2013 SEC Tournament Champion, Ole Miss (Jan. 18, 4:30 p.m. ET, FSN). The Gamecocks travel to Georgia (Jan. 22, 8 p.m. ET, SEC Network) and Missouri (Jan. 25, 4 p.m. ET, SEC Network) the following week.
A return trip from Texas A&M (Jan. 29, 7 p.m., ESPN3) begins a six-game stretch, which features four home games for Carolina. The Gamecocks travel to Ole Miss (Feb. 1, 1:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network), and welcome Auburn to Colonial Life Arena for a mid-week contest (Feb. 5, 7 p.m., ESPN3). A matchup at Tennessee (Feb. 8, 3 p.m. ET, ESPNU) follows, before consecutive home contests, versus Vanderbilt (Feb. 12, 8 p.m. ET, SEC Network) and Alabama (Feb. 15, 4 p.m. ET, SEC Network).
The final six games of the regular season will feature three road and three home contests for Carolina. The Gamecocks travel to Arkansas (Feb. 19, 9 p.m. ET, CSS) for a mid-week game, before hosting Georgia (Feb. 22, 1:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network) for the weekend date.
A trip to Auburn (Feb. 26, 9 p.m. ET, FSN) concludes the month of February, before two exciting home contests at Colonial Life Arena, the first against Kentucky (March 1, 6 p.m. ET, ESPN/2), before a matchup versus Florida (March 4, 7 p.m. ET, ESPNU) on Senior Night.
Carolina concludes the regular season at Mississippi State (March 8, 4 p.m. ET, SEC Network) before the 2014 SEC Tournament, which will be held March 12-16 in Atlanta, Ga. The SEC Basketball Tournament semifinals and championship game will be broadcast nationally on ABC. The SEC Network will televise the tournament games on Wednesday andThursday in addition to the Friday night games. ESPNU will televise the two afternoon games on Friday at the tournament
All of the games included in the ESPN package (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, SEC Network, Fox Sports Net and CSS) will be available through WatchESPN, accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app, through ESPN on Xbox LIVE to Gold members and on Apple TV to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider. Each of the CBS Sports games will be streamed on CBSSports.com and CBS Sports Mobile. The SEC Network will also produce and distribute a studio show each Saturday afternoon during conference play and at the SEC Tournament.
