SC Legacy Media Strikes Back

We’ve got little use for South Carolina’s “mainstream media.” It is the epitome of the expression “go along to get along,” an intellectually and ideologically bankrupt assemblage of bought-and-paid for mouthpieces parroting the propaganda of the Palmetto State’s failed status quo. We’ve got little use for South Carolina’s “mainstream media.” It is the epitome of the expression “go along to get along,” an intellectually and ideologically bankrupt assemblage of bought-and-paid for mouthpieces parroting the propaganda of the Palmetto State’s failed status quo.

Everything, according to the MSM, can be solved by more government spending – including South Carolina’s chronic dearth of jobs, prosperity, intelligence and good health. Never mind that rampant government growth has made things demonstrably worse – on all fronts. And never mind that part of that government growth has come in the form of MSM subsidies.

Anyway … one of the latest interchangeable cogs to advocate ad nauseam on behalf of this perpetual ineptitude is reporter Jamie Self of The (Columbia, S.C.) State newspaper. We’ve written on Self twice previously (here and here) – and in neither case did a flattering word escape our keyboard.

This week, the scribe got a measure of revenge in her weekly political column – bashing FITS in the context of our former affiliation with U.S. Senate candidate Nancy Mace.

Specifically, Self’s column referred to FITS as a “political-gossip-bikini website” – and added that the “national media’s interest may have been piqued” by a recent story in an alternative weekly stating FITS was Mace’s “biggest obstacle” to winning a U.S. Senate seat against incumbent liberal Lindsey Graham.

Really? Last time we checked Mace’s biggest obstacle was Graham’s campaign war chest of $6.3 million – accumulated via all sorts of special interest whoring. Well that … and her own lack of experience as a candidate.

Still, Mace’s proximity to this website (she managed our marketing and graphic design work for a period of several years) is clearly emerging as a “thing” in this race – and her enemies are aggressively engaging it in an effort to try and brand her as something less-than-socially conservative.

Will those efforts be successful? Who knows …

As far as we’re concerned, if Self (and the national media she references) continue publishing the name of our website (FITSNews.com) and the name of our founding editor (Will Folks) – we really don’t care what they say.

At the end of the day, it’s more traffic for us …

So national media’s focus on Mace’s relationship with slimy FITS might derail her chance to knock of “RINO” Graham, but who gives a shit if it means more page views and attention for Will Folks?

Grade-A dick move.

Self made it sound like this is a bad thing?

Well, FITS has been lacking the bikinis part recently. :(

Nancy Mace reminds our Funding Editor of Katherine “Sweet Toes” Jenerette.

Remember “Sweet Toes?.” Another buddy of sic(k) willie who lost. Big lost!

http://www.jenerette.com/kmj_bio/katherine_jenerette_sep08.jpg

Really, she still has this pic out there? Needs a bunion job.

Both totally inexperienced in politics and both totally out-classed,

“Sweet Toes” is also known as “Kombat Katherine” for her reliance on her military (lack of real) experience to gather votes.

Just as silly as “Kombat” Conner. Remember him?

Ms. Mace is another “closet commando.”

First female graduate of the Citadel !?!

So what?!

Congressman Graham is a true leader. He has demonstrated this with his military service as well as his service in Congress.

His reelection is in the best interests of SC. And, it’s a sure thing.

Perhaps “Our” TBG’s memory is clouded with pleasant nostalgia (or high BAC), but he does recall Congressman Graham as being preferable to Senator Graham….

Manufactured controversy is your bread and butter. Why would you complain about your perception that someone else is following your methods?

Take away their favored tax status; after all, as they say in their advertisements, the coupons in the paper pay for the paper, what’s a few extra cents? (No, I no longer get The State and very seldom even visit their web site, lousy delivery service and lopsided reporting. Yes, I have a negative opinion of them).

Agree 100%,

If the State’s delivery was any worse, they could do like the USPS and send it FedEx faster. Our old delivery person for The State ALWAYS had it in out bo by 6 AM unless “the press broke down” – now it may get here by 8 (3 missing papers during July, but “we will extend your subscription”)nd if I’m lucky, he will put it in the paper box on my mailbox post – half the time it’s just pitched out in the driveway.

I don’t know how the USPS could get any worse. Our old postlady was always here by 2 PM, as were her three predecessors (one of whom lived in the neighborhood) – now that she has been promoted, mail has arrived as late as 8:00 PM, and they missed delivering at all on July 18. AND I can’t put postage stamps on an item that weighs more than 13 ounces. They must have had TSA he,lp them out on that one – completely nonsensical on arbitrary weight. Might as well have FedEx or UPS pick it up, and pay a little more – can save the “55 cents per mile” that it costs me to drive my car to the post office, plus get reliable delivery.

Dear General James F. Amos…….

Good morning Sir. When you take time to read this article, what tactics are being used by Wil Folks..?? More importantly, what tactics are NOT being used?

How would these same tactics be used in the media in Yemen to drive a “terrorist” …nuts..?

Furthermore, how would Wil Folks profit from using the same tactics against a corporate entity doing business in Yemen..?

How do corporate entities in Yemen move there “money” in and out of Yemen..?

Why would TontoBubbaGoldstein………care..?
