RE: “Lindsey Graham’s 2014 Challengers: Who Will Emerge?

Dear Editor: We need a leader who sees clearly for the people and should resist candidates that have blindfolds on. Lindsey Graham’s opponents have their skewed sights set on unnecessary political posturing. Graham has his eyes set on the prize that is fulfilling the concerns for the American people despite the “Mace” and blinding “Bright.”

The challengers to Lindsey Graham in 2014 for his Senate bid have no base for their campaigns.  Since, they have proven to go against their Republican colleague and have shown they cannot work together with their own party. They are more interested in promoting themselves than America.  The personal attacks on Lindsey Graham for him being willing to rise beyond partisanship for the duty of public service show their naivete with what this country is about.

There has not been a time in history where our congressmen have been ridiculed for having a working relationship with their peers or presidents.

Therefore, there should never be a time we are reluctant to have a meaningful discussion with our public servants no matter how much we may disagree with them on an issue.  His opponents only believe Congress is about dinner parties, political obstruction, and merely talking about American ideals. Senator Graham knows how to put those ideals into action without displacing his conservative and Christian roots.  He’s not succumbing to the party extremists and those that are so far to the right of the political spectrum that they seem on the left.

Graham understands that to move this country forward everyone must be thinking on the same page. Also, everyone must be for something achievable and willing to find common ground to attain it. No other candidate has the foreign policy expertise, military acumen, legal mind, and social consciousness that Graham has.

Don’t get me wrong the candidates are accomplished and upright individuals. Yet, they do not have the public service results that Graham has and their campaign initiatives won’t garner much in the future either.  Graham has supported job creation for each South Carolinian to have the opportunity to make a good living, the upkeeping of our HBCU’s in South Carolina, favorability for comprehensive immigration reform, and answering to the unique interests of his constituents.  These four issues may appear miniscule, but they are the indispensable columns to support the foundation of this great state we call South Carolina.

His Republican challengers want to be part of a political faction rather than working for the common good.  Graham is
the only candidate that can trim his focus on politics and show his great love for the genuine aesthetic appeal of America.  That can only be seen by those who use their good vision.

sic speaking

Thank you for your poorly wagered attempt at establishment “Republican” herd-speak. You have truly captured the voice of the Lindsey Graham voter. As for your substantive point regarding the virtue of accommodation, we would respectfully disagree with your premise. Appeasement of tyranny is bad enough, but Graham has morphed into something much worse than just an appeaser – he’s become one of the tyrants.

If Graham’s campaign isn’t paying this guy, they should be. It sounds like the kind of stuff a campaign staffer would vomit into an email to send to a bunch of poor saps on some mailing list.

It would be nice if he at least addressed some of the complaints against Graham, but I guess you can’t defend a lot of the shit he does.

Pretty much indefensible on all counts.

Good letter. I can’t say that I agree with a word of it, but well written none the less. Good Grammar. Sounds good anyway?

Could have written it much more concisely in German, though:

Ein Volk! Ein Reich! Ein Lindsey Graham!

I needed that. THANK YOU.

This letter is a nice way of saying (que Vince McMahon’s WWE theme here)…”you got no chance…no chance in hell.” Let Mace (less), (clueless) Connor, (not) Bright, and the rest run…in the end it isn’t going to matter, they won’t even make a run-off.

You act like Lindsey’s bi-partisanship is a good thing. Look at some of the bi-partisan legislation that has passed Congress in the past two decades: the AUMF for the War on Terror, the Patriot Act, the Iraq War and its funding, reauthorization of the Patriot Act, the NDAA, continued financial support for the 51st state of Israel, funding the military junta in Egypt. When “bi-partisanship” occurs in Washington, liberty is dealt a blow, because Graham, McCain, Feinstein, Pelosi, Reid, whoever they may be, are greater threats to the freedom of people in this country than the Islamic radicals Lindsey and his buddies love to fearmonger us about.

I’ll be thanking the Republican Party or Tea Party when a Democrat wins this coveted position by default. How’s that working for you (Repubs, Teabaggers) I bet you’re having to spend a lot of money. Again Thanks

I have always been a moderate democrat, but sometimes I have voted republican. The democrats for the most part have become too liberal for me and the Tea Party is too far to the right. I am beginning to call myself an independent. I will never vote for a tea party candidate. In my opinion, Graham’s democratic challenger appears to be a blue dog democrat. He is looking better everyday. He may be my kind of candidate. I am sure the people who feel the way I do will vote for him.

Actually, I’ll be happy if ANYone other than turncoat Lindsey wins this race. As I have stated multiple times before, much as I despise his politics, I would rather see Jim Clyburn in that seat than Lindsey. At least with Jim, you know who he is and what he is going to do next. Lindsey flip-flops so much, it is impossible to know where you stand with him.

Yes. Graham certainly has a “purty mouth” when it comes to involving the US in unconstitutional, expensive, counterproductive, non-defensive wars around the world which harm the country and benefit only the MIC.

Too bad his philosophy is more in line with fascism than with liberty. He must be thinking “to hell with liberty” when he can get further ahead in life by schmoozing it up with the establishment crony capitalist crowd like Lindsey Graham. It’s much easier to suck up to powerful politicians than to heave off the massive burden of too-powerful government like a real human being should want to do.
