The purpose of tax free weekend is to let parents buy school supplies for a little bit cheaper, not to sell more school supplies. No one goes and buys 100 pencils instead of 10 just because there’s no tax on them. Even if you got your income tax relief, the merit of a tax-free weekend still stands.

Speaking of tax dollars, I see in the news that lawsuits filed against DHEC are beginning to pay off — literally. Any reason why this story is not being covered here?

I’m sure Shealy’s plan will be a carbon copy of Bobby Jindal’s – because that’s what ALEC gives them – and just as successful.
Let’s just hope that it does for our dimwit GOPers what it did for Jindal – send their approval numbers into the toilet.
