SC Beaches: Dirtier Than Ever

“It’s a great day in South Carolina …” for dirty, waste-infested beaches, anyway.

And the problem is getting worse …

A year ago when the National Resources Defense Council issued its annual “Testing the Waters” report, the Palmetto State ranked 17th out of 30 coastal states in terms of water quality at its public beach areas. That year, eight percent of its public beaches exceeded “national recommended health standards for designated beach areas, indicating the potential presence of human or animal waste.”

In 2011, it was only five percent …

This year those levels are much higher – and South Carolina has seen its national standing plummet.

According to the organization’s latest report, eleven percent of Palmetto State beaches now exceed national standards – and South Carolina ranks 26th out of 30 coastal states.

Yikes …

A staple of Liberals is to take the environment and use it to BASH the people you hate…for monetary Greed or political benefits…(see Global Warming Hoax and Obama’s cap and tax plan)…

FITS: You could put your lord-god Obama as head-dolt-in-charge of all the sand, and it would be as big a F*#k up as Obama-Care, Egypt, education, Employment and energy policy…

When you FAIL at everything, as yall do, you look like the complete Dumb@$$ you are, trying to exploit the beach…

Yes, pollution is a vast left wing conspiracy. When you see that trash in the sand or that nasty water runoff it isn’t real.

Dirtiest beach in South Carolina during the 60’s and 70’s was the area between the steps and high tide line behind The Beach Party in Ocean Drive.
I know, you can’t even comprehend where I am talking about, but it sure as HELL wasn’t North Myrtle Beach.

The more kids in the water the more fecal matter you have. The more popular your beaches, the more kids you’re going to have. How, exactly, would you propose, short of killing the marine life in the ocean with anti-bacterial agents, decreasing the percentage of children’s fecal expression in the tidal effluent?

A man was ejected from the motel swimming pool:
“What for?” asked the man.
“You were peeing in the pool,” replied the lifeguard.
“But everyone does it,” says the man.
The lifeguard says, “BUT NOT FROM THE DIVING BOARD!”

A lot of this is due to run off from areas which are contaminated. High amounts of rain usually aggravate this problem. Remember that animals, even insects, generate waste and most of that ends up on the ground. There are still a lot of septic tanks out there and small sewage “package plants.” I doubt anyone from the Government is still checking on them due to budget cuts.

FitsWorld is a magical place. If too many floaters are found on Myrtle Beach someone isn’t doing their job. If no floaters are found, we are wasting money on collecting non-existent floaters. If just enough floaters are found, government is killing the private floater collection industry.

Will gets to have his floaters and eat them.

You have pretty much nailed FITS’ outlook on how the world should be.

Which is unrealistic as hell!!!

Now if your are talking about the elimination of approximately 80% of the human population, FITS’ world might be realistic but only his/her kind would be around to enjoy it!!!

Hey “Fitster”

You were scooped by the printed press of the “Greenville News” by almost a week.

They ran this story (complete with all the details that FITS left out, BTW) last Saturday. Damn informative as well that printed word; (you know, that printed rag that you can take your time and read and digest without some damn semi-factual blog omiting the details which is where the devil is).

Which is what I do each Saturday and/ or Sunday while quaffing a few Blue Moons and munching on wings or other bar food at Chiefs in Spartanburg with predictable regularity!!

So much for the death of the printed word……………

Anyhoo…….

Looks like that paper tiger known as SCDHEC is asleep at the wheel under the leadership of FITS’ darling Ms. Templeton

She has totally fucked up the TB fiasco and has absolutely no idea what she is doing to protect the environment for the health and benefit of the citizens of South Carolina or out of state visitors who come to South Carolina and are ignorant of how much shit they wade in when they visit the shorelines of South Carolina.

Ms. Templeton is just another example of the whoring that the state of South Carolina engages in. Yet, FITS cheers her arrogant incompetent blond ass on!!!

FITS also left out that the neighboring state of North Carolina ranks above the state of South Carolina in every parameter of environmental pollution abatement and environmental water quality.

I encourage readers to this blog read the ENTIRE “Greenville News” article for the whole story

But what else is new??

That is why I spend my vacations on the shores of Florida in the spring or North Carolina after Labor Day.

You can’t have it both ways SIC Willie!!!

1970 was a year of tremendous environmental action by Nixon and Congress. The President signed the National Environmental Policy Act on January 2nd, delivered a call to make “the 1970s a historic period when, by conscious choice, [we] transform our land into what we want it to become” in his State of the Union Address, and ended the year with the creation of an independent agency to regulate the environment.

It’s almost impossible to imagine such strong bipartisan support for environmental legislation these days, but politicians of all stripes were responding to real and serious problems in the country’s towns, suburbs, and wilderness areas.
