S.C. Rep. Nathan Ballentine – who has the largest head of any member of the S.C. General Assembly (and trust us, that’s saying something) – is touting his own “sacrifice” this week on behalf of his constituents and South Carolina taxpayers.
“Being stewards of YOUR tax dollars is the biggest responsibility we have in the General Assembly,” Ballentine wrote on his website. “The budget (and vetoes) are very important and that’s why I’ve written many posts about these matters over the years on my website. In fact, the budget is so important, I left Karen and the kids in Florida this morning so I could get back here to cast votes tomorrow.”
What a hero, right?
Not really …
First, Ballentine’s B.F.F. – S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley – issued a measly $100 million in vetoes out of a $22.7 billion budget. That’s less than one half of one percent, people … the third year in a row she’s failed to cut government spending by even one percent.
So spare us the whole “steward of YOUR tax dollars” crap …
Second, when it comes to showing up for work Ballentine is probably the last person in the S.C. General Assembly who ought to be boasting. He’s got one of the worst attendance records in the entire legislative branch – frequently skipping out on sessions of the S.C. House of Representatives to go do whatever it is he does (stare in the mirror self-consciously at his over-sized knoggin’, probably).
Anyway, Ballentine needs to check himself on this whole “look at me, the martyr” shtick.
Maybe if he had bothered to show up for work a little bit more over the last six months the state budget wouldn’t have been such a monstrosity in the first place …

Nathan is a good guy but he is a downright coward. He doesn’t endorse in local races because he is afraid of offending people. He lets all the corruption in School District 5 go on without a peep.
That being said, this guy that is bought and paid for by the Mungos is popular with his constituents.

Nate is no nice guy or liked by his constituents! His ego is almost as big as his head! He is a back stabber! He is a fraud! Screwing around with married women, his first wife could enlighten you on his escapes. So sick of him walking around Riverland Hills like he is holier than everyone else.

I’ve witnessed him walk into resturants many times. I thought he was cocky and arrogant in his pimp walk. Heck now I know why….that neck of his was having to balance that head.

Ballentine ran against Quinn as a guy who was for term limits, after his weak performance in the House (not showing up to vote) no bills to help our District, he tried and failed to sustain funding for the SC Arts and State Museum. I think it’s time we find his replacement! This big head, small town Marky Mark wanna be needs to stick to NOT returning phone calls at Wells F$$k you!

He thinks he his better than his current position and destined for something much bigger. He has no time for the little people they’re just annoying to him. He reads nothing that is given to him and does no advocating for his District! You were all much better off with Quinn!
