Everything in the mid east (and beyond) has to be considered first according to the 1400 year old Sunni-Shia schism. The U.S. is now firmly choosing the Sunni side (because the governments of Jordan and Saudi and a few oil supplying shiekdoms are our reliable lapdog friends at the moment, even though most of their people hate us). You may remember the Sunni’s effective work on 9/11, al qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood, etc. But we like Iran, Hizballah and Assad less this year. I say let them fight amongst themselves as long as they want and try to re-establish the caliphate on their own terms. It is for the people there to maybe some day look to secularism when they get fed up. Meddling and applying a western style framework before that point is incredibly naive. Have we learned nothing the past 20 years?

If a UAW worker watched how his corporation was starting to re-tool a facility in another country, would Wil or Nancy or Amy tell everyone to sell the stock or BUY it..?? Would they tell everyone before the new plant’s property was purchased…?? …before the new plant opened up..?? ..after the new plant produced the first auto……?? ….or after the company spun off a splinter IPO for a new model..??
