We hadn’t planned on doing another post on the “Richland Robbery” this week … but this scam just keeps getting better and better. Well … worse and worse if you’re a Midlands, S.C. taxpayer.
What’s the latest? A University of South Carolina professor who conducted a government-funded whitewash of last year’s stolen election in Richland County, S.C. is one of three finalists to become the county’s new commissioner of elections.
Wait what? Somebody who helped cover up perhaps the biggest election scandal in state history among those being considered to run future elections for this shameless corrupt county?
Yup … we are not making this up.
Duncan Buell, whose taxpayer-funded institution made $50 million off of this heist, issued a report last December concluding that there was “no bias” in the rigged November 2012 election, in which supporters of a $1.2 billion tax hike targeted voting machine shortages in anti-tax districts.
The result of their efforts? Wait times of up to seven hours and the widespread disenfranchisement of anti-tax voters.
Of course Buell’s report – which concluded that there was no “statistical imbalance” in the election – neglected to include this evidence, which conclusively proves that voting machine shortages were more pronounced in districts that voted against the tax hike in the previous election.
Sadly, the local mainstream media has swallowed Buell’s conclusions as fact and failed to report on the “smoking gun.”
Anyway, news of Buell’s candidacy comes one day after we revealed that Richland County was hiring back the implementor of this scam – former elections director Lillian McBride – to a five-year guaranteed deal that will enable her to draw a lifetime pension from state taxpayers. Not only that, they refused to interview other candidates for this position.
Astounding … this woman should be in jail, people.
Buell is no stranger to controversy, by the way. Two months ago he and two of his students were busted hacking an online poll published by The (Louisville) Courier-Journal and manipulating the results of the survey.
Classy guy, huh?
Of course when it comes to elections in Richland County, the ability to demonstrate proficiency in rigging outcomes is sadly a primary responsibility of the position …

Thanks. And you’re right I did have a “field day” with it…on my own time and for my own entertainment.

Liberals are a nauseating bunch, aren’t they?
Blame everything bad on the liberal bogeyman. I was listening to Tara on WTMA a few days ago. She was talking about the targeting of single mothers by government officials in China and the subsequent discovery of a baby in a sewer. She then launched into a tirade about how this was indicative of some sort of perversion of the liberal mind. Huh?
What next? Hop in a time machine and blame Idi Amin’s taste for human flesh as the result of a failure of “liberalism?” Blame liberal Romans for the excesses of Attilla the Hun?
You need to develop some semblance of critical thinking. Right now you are just Bill O’Reilly’s talking parrot.
Marie Harrison says he looks like a child molester, yet labeling him a liberal is waaaaay more offensive. Amurika!
Jay,
I will be glad to argue with 2big2fail on ANY issue, point-for-point, issue-by-issue. Liberalism, as self defined today, is little more than 1920’s progressive crypto-fascism.
Conservatism has many benefits, but it’s not the complete answer, either – neither is libertarianism, although it is the closest. There is NO system which is not, on some level, unfair to someone. He, apparently, seems to think differently.
So, bring it on. I await your eloquence, Mr. 2big.
yawn…
We probably agree on a lot more than you’re assuming. The thing that really “grinds my gears”, to use an traditional colloquialism, is the fact that this group of people who claim to be so compassionate and understanding towards others, are always the first to hurl insults at people with opposing views and selfishly push agendas that oftentimes defy logic. Granted, they are not the only group that does this, but they seem to ALWAYS fall back on this behavior. We have a public school system infected with liberal idealism trying to ram lazy policy down parents throats. We have a bully liberal administration trying to ram one sided policy down our throats. From common core to draconian gun laws to protecting Monsanto to a health care plan that is doomed to failure to an entitlement system that only works to perpetuate the culture of poverty in the United States.
Maybe I should have stuck with the notion that the corrupt penny sales tax heist is nauseating, and it just to happens to have a ton of liberal underlinings attached to it. I have some very good friends that are liberal leaning, so I know they aren’t all like this criminal co-conspirator Duncan Buell or like our famously corrupt Mayor or the liberal shill Melissa Perry Harris. Many of them are good people, I shouldn’t make blanket statements like that.
Jay,
This is not a liberal administration. Like so many presidents who came before, it is an administration owned and controlled by Wall Street and the Bankers. If Obama was truly a liberal he would never have appointed Tim Geithner and Larry Summers to his economic team.
The labels of “liberal” and “conservative” are just devices that the power elites use to divide us and keep us at each other’s throats. We stay angry at each other, they pick our pockets.
You’re right, it’s not Liberal. It’s more midieval monarchical. Money is whatever the king says it is and trust is whatever the hangman can get away with.
Thumbs up!
Yes, nefarious globalists are the ones actually pulling all the strings, Oblamo is just the face guy. He really in one arrogant son of a bitch though, and that arrogance seems to be rubbing off on anyone anointed by him.
Yup, he the puppet…not the puppet master.

From WIS:
Jackson signs contract as Richland County Elections Director
RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) –
Howard Jackson has signed a contract with the Richland
County Board of Elections and Voter Registration as the agency’s new
director.
The board announced Wednesday that it reached an agreement with
Howard, paying him $78,000 annual salary. As part of the deal, Jackson,
who lives in Orangeburg County, agreed to move to Richland County.
Howard also agreed to forego several other jobs to work full-time for
Richland County. While working as the director of elections in
Orangeburg County, Howard worked in several other positions, including
real estate agent.
Howard was the only candidate remaining for the job one month ago
after two other candidates withdrew from consideration. Neither of them
were qualified to certify election results in South Carolina.
While overseeing elections in Orangeburg, Howard and the elections
agency were investigated by SLED, but the investigation found no
wrongdoing.
The Board of Elections and Voter Registration began its search for a
new director after Lillian McBride was fired and assigned to another
position with the agency. The board decided to make changes after the
2012 November election, in which some Richland County voters had to wait
as long as five hours to cast ballots.
Howard starts work on June 24th.

I’ve spoken to Buell twice. Each time, he’s gone out of his way to be rude, pompous asshole. He’ll fit right in!
