A Midlands, South Carolina television station is in a major bind after promising circus tickets to hundreds of contest “winners.”
WLTX TV 19 (CBS – Columbia, S.C.) recently announced a “text to win” competition offering one lucky winner four tickets to the “Universoul Circus,” an interactive event which caters to African-American fans.
The problem? When it came time to dole out the grand prize, the station inadvertently sent a text message to 750 recipients alerting them they had won.
Oops! That’s an estimated $75,000 – $80,000 worth of tickets, people.

Honest people will not hold them to this error. There used to be a lot of honest people in Columbia. I wonder how many will insist on holding them to this and then be shocked when people are fired to make up for the budget deficit, so that the stockholders will not be cheated.
