University of South Carolina superstar Jadeveon Clowney got dressed up in his best plain white T-shirt for a visit to the South Carolina State House this week …
Clowney, 20, was recognized by Palmetto State lawmakers for his unanimous All-American season last year – which included AT&T National Player of the Year and SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors. The Heisman Trophy candidate recorded 23.5 tackles for loss in 2012 along with 13 sacks – both school records. And if those numbers weren’t sufficiently impressive, Clowney put an exclamation point on his season with this unforgettable hit against Michigan running back Vincent Smith in the 2013 Outback Bowl.
Bottom line? Were it not for the NFL’s rule requiring three seasons to have elapsed from a player’s high school graduation date, Clowney would have been the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft. For sure …
Following his impressive 2011 campaign – in which he captured SEC Freshman of the Year honors – we discussed Clowney’s evolution and the fact he was already being compared to Lawrence Taylor, arguably the greatest defensive player in NFL history.
“Nothing against USC’s superfrosh, but we think the comparison is a bit premature,” we wrote.
Yeah … not anymore. Clowney has not only lived up to his high school hype (the Rock Hill, S.C. native was the nation’s No. 1 recruit in 2010) but he’s managed to outperform those lofty expectations.
Assuming the 6-foot-6, 270-pound junior stays healthy, his 2013 campaign could be one for the ages …
During his visit to the State House, Clowney was swarmed by politicians, photographers and autograph seekers. His appearance – which included a standing ovation from the S.C. House of Representatives – was a public relations coup for the University, which was holding a big event for legislators this week as the state’s FY 2013-14 budget process winds down.
“You would have thought the pope was up there,” one State House insider told FITS.

Haha! He dressed for the occassion. At least he showed them what he thinks of them, too bad he didn’t go a step further and tell them to leave him alone a la James Harrison.
The fact these bastards are using my money to congratulate a future millionaire, like he needs congratulations, is completely ridiculous.

I think the interpretation of this is all wrong. He is on a class field trip for Government 101 at USC. They take the students (athletes) on field trips all the time. However, there will be a quiz . . . Q1. Where did we go today?

FITS could put on a three-piece tailor-made seer-sucker, and all that would remain is the Sucker…This kid has more class in his toe-nail that the Repulsive FITS has in his whole government-check-ridin’ family…
What is refreshing: FITS’ minions used to imply that JD was way over-rated…now FITS is reduced to lamely trying to Bash the kid over his clothing….
Kinda like the lines and lines of Idiots who are left to call me names after I take FITS to school on all the ignorant crap he posts for his dull, leftwing followers….
Wow, he just dwarfs the guy standing next to him, must be scary seeing him run at you.
Yeah, he makes Todd Rutherford look like Gary Coleman.
I had not realized that TR was so small. Looked much taller when greeting everyone at Ruth’s Chris’ a month or so ago….

It is painfully obvious that this individual attends USC.
Well he certainly doesn’t attend Clemson, he’s missing the pizza delivery boy visor.
I wouldn’t go there…

Is a Clemson fan really citing Clemson’s US News ranking in an un-ironic fashion?http://www.insidehighered.com/news/2009/06/03/rankings
Ahhh…linking a 4 year old Inside Higher Ed ‘article’. The Bleacher Report of education.
Forbes Top Colleges: Clemson: 218. Scar: 344 (Citadel is 319).
Kiplinger’s Best Values in Public Colleges: Clemson #39. Scar: #50
USN Up and coming schools: Clemson #7. Scar not ranked.
SmartMoney College rankings: Clemson #7. Scar…sigh…not ranked.
I could go on but I have a 1:35 tee time.
Yes, he was un-ironically citing to US News. Who are you caddying for?
And if we are throwing out subjective rankings from people looking to sell publications, I graduated from the #1 Honors College in the country.

And yet not one employer could care less.
No, dickhead, he/she/it was actually referring to a <<>> that <<>> the USN rankings.
Yep, you have the #1 Honors College; that is, as ranked by ONE man who has written a whopping TWO books (the other was on the Alamo). I would expect nothing more from a product of Scar.
The level of reading comprehension I expect from a Clemson grad. I was the one pointing out how worthless these rankings are. But thanks for reinforcing my point.
“No, dickhead, he/she/it was actually referring to a <<>> that <<>> the USN rankings.”
I grew up in the Upstate, so I generally feel pretty conversant in Clemson illogic, but I am frankly at a loss to even understand what in the world you are saying considering that the website that he linked was is in fact the US News college rankings website, and not one just mentioning it (which is still “citing” the rankings, just like how I linked to an article about the Honors college rankings rather than buying the book and scanning in the relevant pages).
I think you nailed it, Smirks.

So who’s the white guy checking out Clowney’s ass?
that would be Rick Quinn

When you are Jadeveon Clowney you can wear whatever the fuck you want.
He’d wear a suit, but he keeps outgrowing them.
He could’ve gotten a free suit or a free pair of overalls in any men’s store in Clemson – both of them – if he’d told the store’s manager that he played college football without elaborating.
I would think he could get a free suit in Clemson if he told the manager he wouldnt play college football any more. Hell, he could get a house, a car, the coaches wife, etc. They would be so happy he could be mayor up there for a year.bfore he went to the NFL.

His clothing is a disgrace. Says a lot about his background
If you’re suggesting his background is one of adversity, then, as far as I’m concerned, I’m even more impressed he’s able to overcome all those obstacles, and focus his energy on becoming a great football player.
no, you and your “butternuts” are the disgrace. I wonder what your Mama would say of your nickname. that says alot about your background.
One doesn’t want to put on his best Sunday Finery when surrounded by cockroaches.

I bet the old aristocratic South Carolinian legislators were disgusted that they had to recognize somebody like JD. They wouldn’t think twice about him if he didn’t play football at USC. Just think he was another thug
Well I doubt anyone would mistake him for an academic scholar.
he might be smartet than Sammy Potkins
Who?

But I bet he still can’t read or write past the 3rd grade level.
I see the Liberal Redneck Racists are standing up to be counted.
Racism is GREAT w/ yall, as long as it’s the Left implementing it….
And BigT is dreaming about sucking that big black dick.
But he can count to $10 million
Which will likely be gone as quickly as it came in.
Funny how you jealous ass rags on him from WAY behind a computer. He will have more money in one year than you will ever make in your life, will be with hotter woman than you could dream of, and will grow to be 50 X the man you could ever be, yet you are a bas mofo behind your puter. good job big boy!
I’m still smarter than he’ll ever be. My money is he’ll blow every dime he makes and have to live off his NFL pension… just like many great football players before him.
He and Sammy Potkins are in the same classes

We make princes out of these people. We place them on pedestals.
And we wonder why out culture has gone to crap.
We must respect ourselves or we will continue to flounder. We can and should do better. Our children will pay the price for our failure to have higher aspirations.
What a Drama Freakin’ Queen. We like to watch college football, and JD is good at playing it…
With Leftwing, life-hating psycho-babblers, like Don, out there, is it any wonder Obama, FITS and Don’s ilk, have Screwed the country up like it is…
What do you mean “these people”?
Seriously, what higher aspirations are you referring to? Clowney is going to be richer than anyone commenting on this thread will ever be. I think we should encourage our kids to maximize their talents. I would say Clowney is quite a good example of that.Derek Watson/Demetrius Summers, not so much.
…and that Garcia punk.
‘These people’ are the athletes and reality stars and pop singers who are made into celebrities and hero-worshipped.
The guy is good at his sport, that’s all. He’s a good role model if you want to strive to be as athletic as him. If people want to take away more than that, then that is their own stupidity. Athletes are human and screw up just like the rest of us.
It was a reference to Tropic Thunder (“what do you mean ‘you people’?”).
“Richer” for how long? He is a financial sheep waiting to get sheared. Two days after his career is over he will be working at a carwash somewhere.

Looks like he’s at a bond hearing.
That’s where Hillary, Obama and Holder should be…if there were any justice.
If there were any justice, 90% of all politicians would be there…BTFW: Is there anything you don’t throw politics into? Do you get your girl to call you Pappa Perry, name your dogs after Republican presidents, or debate empty chairs when the internet’s down?
BOOM…busted this Dumb@$$ right upside the head…
You corrupt B@$*@*ds can’t stand to be defined for what you are, can you???…LMAO…
Hey, Mr. T. How many down votes a day do you look for to measure the success of your pitiful day?
Looks like he’s at a bond hearing.
Pitiful work on USC’s part. The PR office HAD to know he was getting this recognition. They didn’t tell him to put on a collared shirt? Pitiful. He looks like a druggie thug, he will be treated lilke a thug. Oh, and besides “the hit” which will define Gamecock football for decades, he made three other tackles in that Michigan game. Not exactly setting it on fire but he will be rolling in the dough in about a year. maybe he can buy a polo shirt.
Thats still more tackles that wins clemsux has over him.
I trust the guy in the tee over every tie-wearing motherfucker in that whole building today and always. What would be funny is this: JC taking your penny loafer off of your dainty little polo wearing ass and beating you over the head with it. It’s football and he is a man-eating football machine you cunt.
“he is a man-eating football machine”
… and not much more.

FITS looks pretty much about as Thuggish as he can (see link) especially for the privileged Yuppie son of an Ivory Tower, phat-government-check-ridin’ college professor…
https://www.fitsnews.com/2012/01/20/sic-willie-accused-of-dirty-santorum-trick/
Kinda ironic for FITS to talk about how JD is dressed….
Most of us who grew up ghetto (like I did) know pursuing Thug is the result of a weak mind and leads to a lot of failure. Usually practiced by those unable to throw off the trash thrust upon them. Most Suburbanite, white-boy wannabes (see FITS) have no idea what it is…so they like to play Gangsta to releive the boredom that they are…
True dat.
So BigT is all gansta an shit?
I’m used to seeing him throwing Bitter kitties to the crowd. Never seen him standing still.
I don’t know, has he really done anything during Clemson games?
Ground. Not crowd. Damn iPhone
Like it matters

What a slob. Couldn’t even wear a Gamecock t-shirt, but shouldn’t be wearing a t-shirt at all. I can’t believe no one told him it was a business casual thing, as opposed to a taking a piss in your pajamas thing.

Yeah what a crying shame he didn’t wear suit to sit in a balcony so he could be acknowledged for 30 seconds out of his life. Who cares what he is wearing.

Where is a college kid from a less than wealthy family supposed to get the money to buy a nice suit? There are some ugly racial undertones behind this article but what do you expect from Fits.
So poor black people don’t buy nice clothes? Next you’ll say they don’t buy nice cars or spend money getting their hair did.
No one said he had to turn up in a Zegna suit, but he doesn’t have a white shirt and a tie for Easter and his momma’s birthday? How can you see race here?

His attire is entirely appropriate for the venue. Besides, if he showed up in nice duds, the NCAA would investigate how he could afford them.
Reading some of the comments under this story, it’s less of a mystery to me why people who identify as conservative are so loathed. At this rate, we’ll have to rename ourselves like the liberals did.

I’m guessing the really dressed up portion is out of camera range. That would be the Cargo shorts and Nike’s.
