Earlier this month this website wrote a piece on former S.C. Speaker of the House David Wilkins – who is actively lobbying on behalf of several state agencies …

Why is this a big deal? Because Wilkins isn’t reporting his lobbying activities – which violate a state law prohibiting such behavior by sitting members of state boards or commissions. Wilkins, who led S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s transition, is currently serving as chairman of the Clemson University board of trustees. In fact he’s one of seven members of the board currently serving as a “trustee for life” – in flagrant violation of the state constitution.

Anyway, the Center for Public Integrity has a piece up this week about Wilkins’ lobbying efforts – and while it doesn’t mention his South Carolina activities, it raises several questions about the lobbying he’s doing at the international level.

“Last year, the provincial government of Saskatchewan spent $400,000 to hire Wilkins and his associates to advocate for province’s energy exports and cross-border food safety,” the CPI report notes. “That same year, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers spent $240,000 for Nelson Mullins to lobby Capitol Hill regarding Canada’s oil sands industry, records indicate.”

Wilkins claimed there was “no conflict of interest” because his lobbying activities did not involve any of the interests he advanced as U.S. Ambassador to Canada under former president George W. Bush. However, CPI notes that Wilkins lobbied on behalf of the provincial government of Alberta regarding timber issues that he dealt with extensively during his tenure as ambassador.

In other words Wilkins is being as truthful about his conflicts as he has been in the past about his long-running extramarital affair … which is to say “not very.”

Either way, it’s abundantly clear Wilkins is lobbying … which is a big “no no” given his position at Clemson.

He is one of those people that makes money everywhere he goes. Katon Dawson, Hugh LEATHERMAN, Haley,Wilkins, dan Cooper, etc. they always get paid while the honest folk are working and receiving little or no economic benefit.

Public service work, when done by economic whores, pays well.

And good old Bob Peeler, Waste Management’s unregistered lobbyist with a brother in the state senate pushing a bill that will help Bob’s client, is the Vice Chair of the Clemson BOT. What a lovely pair these two make. So the lesson here is you get yourself a lifetime spot on the Clemson BOT and then use that to obscure your money making activities b/c of course you can’t lobby if you’re on the BOT! Nice, boys. Real nice.

The peelers are the worst of the worse, when it comes to immorality, lack of any ethics, lying, cheating and home wrecking.
They bring trash to everything they do and touch. They are a cancer along with the sluts they hang with.

Bob Peeler the liar, adulterer, lobbyist! The one who uses his brother for all of his illicit, illegal and immoral activities.?
The one who’s only claim to fame was a plastic cow and a red truck?
The close associate of (Lexington Ring) Jimmy Metts, Donnie Meyers, Danny Frazier, Randy Halfacre, Joe Owens, Hazel Livingston, Tim James, Jasom Amidio, Joe and Roxanne Wilson, and Alan Wilson brother of Harvey Peeler…that Bob Peeler?
The one who had the affair with a campaign worker. Was this slut paid with campaign contributions. That should be against the law too!
Seems these boys have no soul, no conscience, no morals and no ethics!

Anyone notice that this CPI report on Wilkins came out on the same day that the CPI gave the state of SC an “F” rating on it’s latest report for transparency? The criteria:

-Does the state require reporting of independent expenditures,
political spending that urges voters to support or oppose a candidate
but is not coordinated with the campaign?
-Does the state require reporting of the target, the identity of the candidate who is the subject of the independent spending?
-Does the state require reporting of position, whether the spending supports or opposes the target
-How does the state monitor “electioneering communications” —
advertising that airs close to an election that names a candidate but
does not urge viewers to vote for or against the candidate?

Wonder if Wilkins is “lobbying” on behalf of any political candidates since he seems to know pretty well how this whole lobbying thing is done? I guess we’ll never know.

Surely it would be nice to have the Clemson BOT Chairman throw his influence behind your campaign. I wonder how much it would cost for such a service? I guess we’ll never know.
