At the beginning Jason (Chief) was mentioned on the audio tape from Danny Frazier indicating Jason of wrong doing in the Town of South Congaree. The council sat back and did nothing to prevent the future problem that would soon follow. They allowed Jason to manipulate them and there has been a majority of them backing him. Jason allowed the poker machines to operate in South Congaree untouched ( as Danny said he would on the tape). Jasonallowed the poker machines at the BP with protection and then when SLED came back in town unannounced, they found the machines in the backroom. Of course, ason failed to let council know (because guilt would be pinned on him with the council voting for him). How he continues to battle the council and pull the blinders over their eyes is beyond belief. From the machines to his affair with the town administrator (Clerk). For the people of South Congaree, you should be furious with the council who allowed this to go on for as long as it has. When the story broke in August 2012 the Town could have looked progressive and removed Jason at that point, now they have egg on their face. The Town now is a defense mode and has to clean up the mess. Residents need go to town hall and find out whom as backed Jason throughout this mess and ask them to step down for the black eye they have allowed the town to have. Jason and the clerk need to go and the council needs to find a progressive leader for the police and the town in order to get out of this mess.
Okay, i have read some really stupid things pertaining to this story, which has obviously been blown up. But this, this statement is by far the most ridiculous statement i have read. How many teeth do you have? I am assuming not many. South Congaree is one of the safest towns in the ENTIRE state. Before Jason Amodio became Chief of the town, the town was nothing but a big meth lab. Now people can actually feel safe when they are in the town. Furthermore, there have been no machines found in the town, and it is mighty funny how SLED will not say what they found at the office raid. I would imagine that is because they did not find anything of importance. The town council is not progressive in any way, if it wasn’t for Chief Amodio, the town officers would still be driving around in 1999 Crown Vics. The town doesn’t even have an active FB or Twitter, and the website is a joke, guess who controls that…yeah the council. This is what happens when you have an educated man running a police department, who is working for a bunch of rednecks with no common sense. The only progressive one IS THE CHIEF. Considering your lack of grammar skills and your lack of knowledge on this topic, i can understand how you would think these clearly untrue statements are true.

I refer you to this as per WISTV Last week SLED agents, along with Metts’ deputies, raided four locations in Lexington County and seized 21 video poker machines. They came from a store in South Congaree, a house in Springdale, and another store near Lexington. There were no arrests.

The town does have a facebook page I have seen it. As far as the town website it is not ran by the council it is ran by the Mayor/Administrator.

I fully agree!! There is a special called town council meeting tonight at 6:30 pm. Please notify all local news media of this council meeting. Citizens of south Congaree it is way passed time that we took our town back and restore integrity, leadership, and professionalism.
