Lindsey Graham Just Sucks

Sixteen “Republicans” broke ranks and voted with Democrats this week to open the door for further erosion of our Second Amendment rights.

And of course one of them was U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (RINO-S.C.) – who has never met a core conservative issue he hasn’t sold out.

“I welcome a debate on the Second Amendment in the United States Senate,” Graham said. “I want to proceed to this bill. I want to debate it. I am not afraid.”

Translation? I’m not going to help kill this anti-Second Amendment bill when I have the chance.

Graham’s reasoning? That the “Republican-controlled” U.S. House of Representatives will kill any legislation passed by the Democratic-controlled Senate. Oh, and that political hay can be made against certain Democratic Senators when they vote against gun rights.

Really? That’s his excuse?

Sounds like a “punt” to us …

Here’s the thing … in our current era of recklessly unsustainable, rabidly anti-liberty big government – when you have a chance to kill bad bills, you kill them. You sure as hell don’t move them forward. Also last time we checked, Graham was all about protecting vulnerable Democrats – not going after them. Which means his assertion that this issue will be a political winner for “Republicans” is laughable.

On this and so many other issues of importance to fiscal conservatives and supporters of individual liberty, Lindsey Graham just sucks …

Problem (for FITS) is that: Mace is just as moderate as Graham. There needs to be a CONSERVATIVE running against him…I’d love to see Jim DeMint come back, or someone like him.
Career politicians, who play the middle like Sanford and Graham, must be rejected….

How about Lee Bright? He’s a conservative who reminds me a lot of Rand Paul or Ted Cruz. He just declared his campaign, and anyone wanting to help can donate here: https://rally.org/brightforsenate

Graham is obviously just punting here to avoid letting Senators Paul, Cruz, and Lee get any more popularity points as they represent the tiny anti-neocon faction of the US government. (Most Dems and Pubs being neocons)

This is actually what Graham said. He also noted the bill could still be filibustered.

“I welcome a debate on the Second Amendment in the United States Senate. I want to proceed to this bill. I want to debate it. I am not afraid.

Some have asked why I opposed filibustering a procedural motion to move forward. Here’s my reasoning.

• Many Senators have refused to even take a position on some of these issues for fear of angering one side or the other. There’s only one way to see where Senators actually stand – make them vote.

• Filibustering right now means Senators get a free pass. Some politicians’ dream scenario is one where they don’t actually have to vote For or Against a proposal but can tell each side they were with them all along. Again, let’s make Senators vote.

• Nothing the Democrats are proposing would have prevented the Sandy Hook massacre. We need Senators on record. Do you support these proposals?

• The legislation can still be filibustered after today in the United States Senate. And even if gun control legislation passes the Democratic-controlled U.S. Senate it is unlikely to pass the Republican-controlled House of Representatives.

• Finally, I have my own legislation, supported by the NRA, which I want to bring forward in the Senate. My legislation would make a real difference in keeping guns out of the wrong hands.

It’s designed to prevent individuals like Alice Boland, a mentally disturbed individual who once pled ‘Not Guilty By Reason of Insanity’ in federal court for threatening to kill the President of the United States from legally buying a firearm. Under current law, she was able to pass a background check, buy a pistol, and go to Ashley Hall School in Charleston where she tried to shoot several school officials. One bullet in her hands is one too many.

Again, I welcome a debate on gun control and you should too. The American people deserve to see where their elected representatives stand on the Second Amendment.

Let’s vote.

I don’t understand why you want to filibuster this. Let it go to the floor and make these Senators vote on the bill and its amendments. Let all of us see where they stand. There are a lot of vulnerable Democrat Senators who would have loved to see a filibuster succeed. That way they would not have to make any tough votes and they could continue to blame Republicans for being “obstructionists.” Maybe something passes, maybe it fails in the Senate. Even if something does pass, it has very little chance of succeeding in the House.

My understanding is that our great Senator is a world renown hunter of gophers. He has been know to use the analogy of hunting of gophers to his role as a True Conservative United States Senator.

In fact, in all matters pertaining to hunting gophers that come before any Federal Authority, he is summoned as an expert witness.

One of the basic tenants of gopher hunting is that one has to think and act as gophers do.

If you are out in the wild hunting gophers and a gopher sticks his head up out of his hole, you would naturally be inclined to raise your rifle, wait until he pops up again and then sequester the little rascal.

Wrong move. A gopher never sticks his head up twice out of the same hole. An expert like Senator Graham will crawl into the hole the gopher just popped out of and proceed to crawl around until he forces the gopher out of another hole. Then he would proceed to do the same in the second hole and so on hole after hole after hole

By now you may be asking yourself if he keeps crawling around and popping up but never actually shooting a gopher, then how can he be called an expert gopher hunter.

Well like I said earlier, the Federal Government considers him an expert hunter of gophers, nobody ever said he could ever kill one

In retrospect makes you wonder if he is the same in his role as a Conservative Senator. He knows how to hunt conservative issues but he don’t seem to be able to pull the trigger when it comes time to kill liberal gophers.

Every time a nutjob flies off the handle, we are debating our Second Amendment freedoms away. We let another infringement pass and become the “law of the land,” what is the next bargaining piece when an unfortunate massacre takes place after the fact? Another infringing law? Then another after yet another killing? When does it stop? Do we just keep adding one more infringement each and every time some moron decides to murder?

Why the hell is there a need to filibuster every bill? And not even the actual bill’s passage, but just bringing it out to the floor? And when the Senate Republicans know full well that the House GOP will kill it?

Stopping gun control is read meat for Republicans. Jesus, you have the numbers to stop it, let the Democrats vote on it so you can point fingers come election time. Easy brownie points.

Besides, Graham likely won’t back the actual bill itself at the very least because it is so close to his reelection time.

87% of the country and the majority of Republicans favor these marginal reforms. And they’re going to use it as a wedge issue to defeat Dems? Man, you numbnutt Republicans/”Conservative” are incapable of reading a poll.

What don’t you guys that were saying that Romney would walk it into the end zone, including the guy on the masthead of this blog, look this up: Epistemic closure.

Senator Lee Bright will replace Graham in 2014.

Graham committed political suicide with:
1) his Grahamnesty;
2) his Gun Grab bill;
3) his support of executing FIVE American’s with drones without arrest, trial, judge or jury;
4) and his support of torturing American’s in GITMO Bay by drowning them three times a day until they don’t know their own name, without a trial, judge or jury.
5) his bill to turn Iran into a Hitler Like Dictatorship on false nuclear weapons reports, just like he turned Iraq into a Hitler Like Dictatorship on false nuclear weapons reports.

NO ONE IN SOUTH CAROLINA LIKES GRAHAM.
The Republicans think Graham is a RINO.
The TeaBaggers have been attacked by Graham for 3 years and hate him.
The Libertarians hate Graham for his indefinite detention, his executions by drones, his GITMO BAY, his statement that American’s, who are called Terrorists don’t get a lawyer, and his creation of Hitler Like Dictatorships in Iraq and Afghanistan and soon Iran.
The average South Carolina voter hates Graham because Graham wants to legalize 11,000,000 unemployed, poverty level, illiterate, known criminals, give them free socialized medicine through ObamaCare and a government paycheck, which is all paid for by the 20 New ObamaCare taxes.
The Democrats, who funded Graham, set Graham up to take their fall over Grahmnesty and Graham’s personal gun grab bill.
