also worth noting that it includes a formula for converting PT employees into the FT equivelents. you add up all the hours worked by your PT emps, divide by 120 (30hours/week X 4weeks) and you now have your FTE (full time equivelent) employees that you add to your FT rosters, there are also formulae for positions where you dont always log hours (commissioned retail) or non-traditional shift (like doctors) workers. so theres not much of a loop hole for making people work 29h a week.

there is an annual 2000 fine per employee without benefits. Insurance costs about $400 a month. most small businesses will pay the fine instead.

My conclusion as an insurance professional is that very few (if any) new employees will get insurance, and many will lose their employment instead
