A lot of the web videos released by the S.C. Democratic Party are hokey and … well … not quite ready for prime time.
Of course every so often one of these low budget productions hits the “Mark” … like the 2-minute clip the party released this week poking fun at former S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford for his infamous “unexcused absence” from the state. The video begins as a pretty generic rehashing of the hell through which Sanford put South Carolina back in 2009 – but as the clip progresses the strains of N’Sync’s 2001 hit “Gone” become more pronounced in the background.
And around the 1:25 mark we have a full-on Mark Sanford-Justin Timberlake mash-up on our hands …

Sanford, who recently won the GOP nomination for the vacant first congressional district seat (which he held from 1995-2001), faces off against Democrat Elizabeth Colbert-Busch in a special election on May 7.
According to multiple polls, Colbert-Busch – a former six-figure state bureaucrat and sister of comedian Stephen Colbert – enjoys a slim lead over the scandal-scarred former governor. That’s why Democrats appear to be investing heavily in this race – hoping to pick up a district which overwhelmingly votes Republican under normal circumstances.
Whoever wins this special election better not get too comfortable, though … they’ll have to face the voters again in 2014.

What I find HILARIOUS…FITS-Sanford and Co. seem a bit miffed at the media’s TOTAL reversal to BASH them now..
FITS and Sanford were CLUELESS (like McCain in 2008) that the media only wanted Sanford to win, because he was the left’s chance to win the seat.

I’m certain every last person that voted for Sanford knows damn well what kind of self-serving, deranged asshat he is. If they accept that and want him to represent them, then (1) they deserve what they get and (2) it says a god-awful lot about them. Absolutely amazing.

SC-1 voters need further proof of Sanford’s disqualification before they write him off, so it appears they are giving him one more chance (since he said he was sorry and it’s the Christian thing to do after all) unless Colbert-Busch makes a brilliant showing vis a vis. Even so, he will probably have to murder someone and then perform an act on the corpse before they discount him. I was going to say beastiality but didn’t a pol already experiment with that and was welcomed back to the fold?

Mark my words, South Carolina will pick the R candidate irregardless of the candidate history. Hell we picked Newt for God’s sake. We have in office a Governor that has no moral compass and a laundry list of sexual deviants holding office! Peeler, Eckstrom, Ballentine, Vick…of course if they list a friggin church on their bio all is forgiven! Laughing stock, at least it will give Leno a few good jokes before they pull his plug!
