“Government-run monopolies on gambling”-You’ve never put a few bucks down on a NCAA basketball tournament pool, or been to a casino?

well, the state of SC has no casinos, because SC has a monopoly on gambling. Technically, wagering on anything, including March Madness pools is illegal in SC. (not that SC is chasing pool participants)

I understand your point, but Fits doesn’t say “SC government”, he says “government”. I was pointing out that there are other options if you want to gamble.

At least you can still buy quickies at the convenience stores in the seedier parts of town, but only after dark, and having to scrape off something afterwards isn’t as exciting or rewarding.
