Lindsey Graham Calls For Invasion Of Syria

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (RINO-SC) – a longtime puppet for America’s military-industrial complex – is calling for the United States to invade Syria. What for, you may ask? Well, Graham’s pretense is the ostensible need to make sure the wrong sort of weapons don’t fall into the wrong colored hands…

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (RINO-SC) – a longtime puppet for America’s military-industrial complex – is calling for the United States to invade Syria.

What for, you may ask?

Well, Graham’s pretense is the ostensible need to make sure the wrong sort of weapons don’t fall into the wrong colored hands (or some such nonsense), but the bottom line is he’s looking for an excuse to get America’s Armed military involved in yet another astronomically costly, totally unjustified foreign conflict.

You know … because that’s what neocon whores do (when they’re not attacking supporters of fundamental American liberties, anyway).

“You’ve got to get on the ground,” Graham told The Cable regarding the Syrian situation. “There is no substitute for securing these weapons. I don’t care what it takes. We need partners in the region. But I’m here to say, if the choice is to send in troops to secure the weapons sites versus allowing chemical weapons to get in the hands of some of the most violent people in the world, I vote to cut this off before it becomes a problem.”

Really? Fuck him.

Of course that’s what Graham believes … this guy has never met a country he didn’t want to invade, so long as it’s other people’s blood (and money) on the line. Oh … and he’s never minded a little “collateral damage” when it comes to serving his special interest masters.

In this case Graham’s interventionist bent – backed by the special interests bankrolling his multi-million dollar campaign account – centers around as-yet-undocumented allegations of chemical weapons being used in the Syrian Civil War.

“Somebody has to do something about it and that somebody has to be us,” Graham said.

Um, no … something does not have to be done. By anybody.

This sort of interventionist nonsense (which was embraced last year by failed GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney) isn’t going to make us any safer … in fact it’s going to make us less safe when militants in these countries realize American troops have invaded their country. Seriously … have we already forgotten the lessons of 9/11? Or the ever-escalating financial/ body count associated with the interminable “War on Terror?”

As if Graham’s attack on U.S. Sen. Rand Paul earlier this month for daring to stand up to the specter of government-funded domestic terror wasn’t sufficient to warrant his dismissal  … this shameless war-mongering is yet another glaring example of his total lack of fitness for office. And yet another reason for Republican primary voters in South Carolina to get rid of him in 2014 … electorally, or via drone strike.

Either way is fine with us …

Which country is next on the US world “spreading democracy” tour? Iran or Syria? Anyone wanna place bets/odds? Where did all the “anti war” Democrats go anyway?

Oh yea, Black Jesus is in power…so it’s all good.

Hey dumbass….don’t be surprised in a few weeks when you read that we have CIA agents in Syria trying to secure the chemical weapons. We did the same thing in Libya after the fall of Qaddafi. In fact, most of the CIA people in Benghazi were there trying to secure MANPADS which are shoulder launched missiles.

If this shit falls in the wrong hands — ala Al Qaeda — they will use it. This is serious, scary business.

Yes, and if we keep invading their countries with no compelling national security interest they will most assuredly use those weapons on us. So let’s stay out – and not interfere when they use them on each other. Seriously … pull your head out of your ass and put the horse before the cart for a change.

Grahams line was the line of just about EVERY Republican in Congress (except for Walter Jones and Ron Paul) a few short years ago, before the Republicans found their “inner libertarianism.”

Democrats who “questioned” , not even opposed, just questioned our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan were labelled “traitors” and my personal favorite,”cut and runners.”

Trith is though, there is insufficient evidence that this new wave of non interventionism sweeping over the GOP commands anywhere near majority support among the faithful.Indeed the whole post Reagan face of the Republican Party has been built around a tough, ready to invade military establishment, while berating Democrats and Ron Paul types for being insufficiently bellicose.

I agree with Fits.We have no dog in the Syrian fight(many of the rebels are radical Islamists);however,Im not at all sure his position represents majority opinion among the so called “conservatives” he identifies with, much less the base of the Republican Party.

The CIA briefings are top secret in terms of content as you well know. POTUS gets one every AM. Therefore you do not have the privilege of knowing what they know and thus can not make informed decisions but that does not stop you from making uninformed ones.

The truth is both parties support the wars, they just complain when they aren’t in charge. Defense contractors likely shell out big bucks to the ones running the show to make sure things never change.

Poor Ike must be rolling in his grave.

Just before we invaded Iraq, the CIA conducted a study to determine if the reason to invade was valid. The question at hand was were there Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq? The study concluded that it was highly unlikely Iraq possessed any WMDs.

Moreover, in the unlikely case that there were any WMDs, it was extremely unlikely that they would ever use them against us and the only probable scenario under which they would use them would be if we invaded Iraq. Not a very compelling case to go to war. Guess how many of our 535 Congressmen and Senators even read this report? Well, according to the Cato Institute, only six even requested a copy.

If only more citizens realized that…I doubt they would believe it, in that the media is not going to allow anyone to inform America that Iran is not, according to very reliable sources, some of which are Israeli, that Iran is not a threat and not building a nuclear weapon.

Damn, how many wars does Graham want to start? He is also calling for the US to mop up for Israel after they bomb Iran, which would put us in another costly war. Ask yourself this question, What will gasoline cost at the pump the day after Iran is bombed? My guess…around $6 to $8 a gallon.

Already, the sanctions on Iran are costing us dearly at the pump because a large portion of Iranian oil is being diverted away from the world market, all thanks to a seriously disturbed warmonger by the name of Netanyahu and his accomplices like Graham who have a vendetta out against a country that poses no threat to us. Sad that an Israeli can manipulate our foreign policy at will.

Second question, with the local, state and federal budgets being squeezed, how much do you think a war with Syria will cost? Answer….if it is like the Iraq war, where neocon Wolfowitz estimated the invasion of Iraq would cost 60 to 80 billion dollars, is now approaching one trillion dollars, with an estimated cost over the next thirty years, considering death benefits, interest on debt etc. will top 6 trillion dollars. it is anyone’s guess as to what a war with Syria will cost. The problem with backing the rebels in Syria is that no one knows exactly who would be in charge if and when Assad was ousted.
