It’s time!
In the event you haven’t already done so, grab a pen, stylus or keypad and fill out your 2013 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament brackets (see below). It’s fun! As well as a chance to let government know “who’s No. 1.”
Yeah …
We love “March Madness.” In addition to the thrill of watching Cinderella teams like Butler, Virginia Commonwealth and George Mason make it to the Final Four, we love the opportunity the “Big Dance” affords Americans to enjoy a little unreported income.
Each year an estimated $3 billion is wagered on March Madness pools … none of which are technically legal. Then there are wagers placed on individual games with Las Vegas odds makers – where betting on the NCAA tournament is second only to the Super Bowl in terms of the volume and amounts placed on the line.
That’s as it should be … of course government will never fully legalize sports betting because (as we’ve pointed out repeatedly) it wants to maintain a monopoly over the gambling industry.
That’s too bad … this website has repeatedly encouraged civil disobedience with regard to unlawful impositions on our individual liberties, and we hope millions of people will exercise that right this week.
