Problem is, we would need some real evidence he was chasing after this woman. Where do the rumors come from?

Just observe, or even ask the school teacher, if you want real evidence. However, when has real evidence been a requirement for this blog? Neither Eckstrom, as a conservative, nor Folks, as a Libertarian, have changed their political tunes as I have observed. It all comes down to a woman.

What does his salary have to do with this story, Will? He ran for the office, and is not doing the job. Why the preoccupation with everyone’s pay? The only relevance his salary may have in this discussion is that we may be paying too little to attract a competent candidate to the office.
Lower the damn salary and attract someone who might run for love of the state.
What we have now is a system where really marginal people like Eeeeekstrum, Haley and Sanford, and thousands more across the country, look to government to pay them what they could never hope to make if they actually had to find a job based on their talents, skills and intellect.
I agree. In fact, a high school classmate of mine, Mike Meilinger, ran against him last time and was beaten despite being ten times smarter than that old bastard. Mike is a Marine, a CPA and a good guy. He’s too right wing for me, but he was a far superior choice to Eckstrom. If only people would have taken the time to research the candidates (see Haley, Nimrata.)
As a Mauldin ex-Patriot, and former classmate of Mike also, I agree entirely with you southmauldin. Its not a partisan type job anyway so Mike being right-wing as hell makes no difference. A damn shame that race was not about competence.

It’s def not Eckstrom’s fault. I blame SCEIS. This is the 1st year the CAFR has been compiled without STARS. Eckstrom also went to the senate finance numerous times asking for funding to hire CPA’s. We all know Sheheen ripped him a new one. But why did Loftis get his additional funding at the treasurers office and not eckstrom?When you lose 4 CPA’s which with 10 plus years experience putting the CAFR together…u r gonna have some delays.
