I’m really surprised that one of SC’s politicians,has never had the ‘gay thing’ mentioned in media,although watching him give a speech on TV w/other gays,has everyone’s ‘gaydar’ going into overdrive.I guess the little nuances of gayness,don’t register w/straight people.
This wouldn’t be so bad if he hadn’t opposed ,’gays in the military’,and ’same-sex marriage’,but maybe he just wants all those soldier boys to himself…

Crwaford actually was speaking from his heart and showing us a peek behind the curtains of decency that GOP, displays, especially in the south, having the worst human rights record of the near past. I can understand your knowledge of NYC politics, but I think you are way off on San Fran. They haven’t elected a Republican Mayor since 1964, and haven’t elected a Republican to the Board of Supervisors since 1973. If it was a simple head-to-head race between Alvin Greene as a Democrat, and virtually ANY Republican, Greene would win in San Fran. He would absolutely crush Bush in your hypothetical race.

2. The point of the tongue-in-cheek mentioning Alvin’s hypothetical failure in a match-up in NYC or San Fran with George W. Bush (who is just about Democrats’ least favorite Republican out there, maybe Cheney is less well thought of) is that he is a complete loser of a candidate.
You’d think you’d be commenting on a national site, since there’s so much national attention. It just seems odd that you’d want to share your opinions on a primarily SC site. But I guess that’s the Yankee way.
