Ethanol is no longer subsidized. Congress let the blenders tax credit expire at the end of 2011.
And my local gas station sells ethanol-free gas
You can drive 5 miles out the way and pay 20 cents morea gallon for a cheaper to produce product that is just a Green as the crap Ethanol…

If this country was smart, manufacture the ethanol from switch grass, it has a net energy yield of about 6 to 1, compared to corns 1.25 to 1. Argentina weaned itself from gas by using cane as their ethanol source. The biggest deterrent to switch grass appears to be the fact that it isn’t traded on the commodities market. FYI, switch grass is what has been referred to in our history as PRARIE GRASS, it grew naturally until the invention of the plow.
Ethanol also has a one third penalty in miles per gallon.
Bush made some STUPID mistakes listening to Karl Rove and trying to get along w/ Liberals who HATED him…
We need to ELIMINATE all “play-pretty” moderate-libertarians like FITS and Co. from the GOP so we can go RIGHT and bring this country back from the destruction of the left…

Just got my permit from TTB for a small producer of ethanol fuel. I can produce up to 10,000 gallons per year.
I can produce 192 – 194 proof ethanol for $1.80~/gallon. Run it through a molecular sieve to kick it up to 200 proof. Mix 7 pints with a pint of gasoline, BOOM! Two buck gas, kiss my ass!!
When you get sued for tearing up peoples’ car, you better have an attorney…because the law suits should be coming soon. Ethanol tears up motors…
Uhhh, I have a flex fuel vehicle and its for my use, not for resale.
How long before your Stupid @$$ figures out it costs $6 to produce a gallon of fuel..and then costs you $10,000 in engine repair on a car that cost you $20,000 more than the $7,000 tax credit Obama gave you to buy it…

The military’s research into bio fuel is outrageously expensive and never likely to replace the use of fossil fuel in the military. For the record, corn ethanol is as bipartisan an issue as it gets, so commenters can save the liberal-bashing for something more deserving. Case in point: how about the Mexican-made mid-western-corn-powered SUV used by the Commissioner of Agriculture? SC imports about 90% of the corn we use, so that vehicle is a double insult. Some better SC options include sweet potatoes, poultry fat, and yes, hemp. And a BMW. Leadership from the top on this issue could make an important difference.
