Just in case the underlying point of their recent Call of Duty ripoff video was lost on anyone, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea – a.k.a. North Korea – vowed this week to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the United States.
“Since the United States is about to ignite a nuclear war, we will be exercising our right to preemptive nuclear attack against the headquarters of the aggressor,” the country’s state-owned media announced.
North Korea recently concluded another nuclear test (its third in the last seven years) and while its program is clearly making strides, intelligence experts do not believe the country is capable of delivering a warhead to American soil.
Not yet, anyway …
North Korea’s saber-rattling comes as the United Nations is preparing to sanction the country for its nuclear tests.
Since the death of Kim Jong Il in 2011, North Korea has been ruled by 29-year-old Kim Jong Un – the youngest head of state in the world.
As we noted last month, “North Korea has every right to pursue its nuclear destiny and leverage that power toward whatever end it seeks – whether it be intimidating a dying superpower or forcibly reuniting with South Korea.”
Of course we added “assuming there is credible evidence of an impending strike against America, then the United States’ military should preemptively strike with overpowering force.”

The fact that the best ambassador we have to N. Korea is Dennis Rodman says everything that needs to be said about this entire bullshit situation.
The US has no ambassador to North Korea. We have no diplomatic relationship with North Korea, which remains in a state of war with South Korea. We relay official positions through the Chinese. Are you proposing we offer to establish diplomatic relations and open an embassy there? Are you proposing we engage in bilateral talkes with the North Koreans? That is of course part of what North Korea wants, along with an end to sanctions.
Not to worry, the French-speaking Jenjis Jean Kerre (who, by the way, served in Viet Nam) will be on the job right quick, and go bore the Yong Un to death with his haughty droning
“Are you proposing we offer to establish diplomatic relations and open an embassy there?”
Of course.
North Korea would probably be torn between tearing it down and executing the “oppressive imperialist American pigs,” or doing nothing so it could raid the embassy for foodstuffs during famines.
That’s nothing a good trip to a Chinese buffet across the border won’t solve. Food heals all.
:)
Somewhat simplistic given the history. We are still supporting the south in what both the north and south consider a Civil War. We have 20,000+- troops on their border, just south of the DMZ. I donot think we should take this lightly, but if we do what you are suggesting, we would be giving into nucleur blackmail. Where would it end?
They sell nuclear techonology to third world countries. Remember the “Axis of Evil”.
I have no answers, but I recognize your simple one is probably naive.
Ah yes, because sticking our fingers in our ears like petulant children and screaming “nah, nah, nah, I can’t hear you!” has worked really well so far. I’m sure the upcoming sanctions on a country that already has had decades of starvation will work well too.

I think China would take North Korea out in an ugly fashion way before they even found the matches to light the fuse.

Something I find really creepy about all of this comes from some “Coast To Coast AM” programs from about 14-15 years ago. They used to have this weird guy as a regular guest on there who was known as Major Ed Dames. Ed claimed to have been involved in US military “remote viewing” projects, years before. Remote Viewing, is the concept of taking people trained in such, putting them together, and having them focus on a target event, object, or person. In theory, they can see persons, places, or things, that are at a distance, not only physically, but in terms of time, also. While I believe the concept itself may possibly be valid, Dames always struck me as a charlatan and an egotistical nut, somehow.
Anyhow, around 15 or so years ago, back in the late 90’s, I recall Dames telling the host (Art Bell) that his team of remote viewers did a view on “the next time a nuclear weapon would be detonated in anger”. What they came up with was that one would be used by North Korea, against South Korea. Keep in mind that at this point in time, North Korea was not in the news a lot, as it is now and it certainly was not a nuclear concern, unless maybe you consider a missing Soviet suitcase nuke. It was very much out of sight and out of mind, with regard to news or public concern. Dames said that the attack would come after talks broke down with N Korea.
Anyway, even though Ed Dames always impressed me as being some kind of nut, I cannot help but find the events with North Korea and their nuke program for the last few years to be more than a little creepy. Even a blind dog finds a bone, sometimes.
Remote viewing.
AKA
Half-astral projection.
Oh God, that was golden, Tonto!!!!!!!
The program for remote viewing I think was called Stargate – interesting, huh?

Is North Korea gonna jump? Maybe they aren’t testing missiles. Maybe the aftershocks we have been detecting are Kim Jong-un practicing for the long jump at the Olympics.
North Korea is best Korea! Supreme Leader win all gold medals!
Is Kimmy going to enter the Special Olympics?

Good lord. Have y’all looked at the youtube videos of the place? It’s almost as bad as SC.
I remember glorious leader IL playing golf for the first time in his life, he had 14, yes, that’s right, 14 holes in one.
I think their nucs are like Iran’s new stealth fighter.
Anyway, UN better be careful, Rodman might like him. “You don’t look like my type, but I’ll guess you’ll do”.

I’d love to have one of those goofy oversized hats! I’m half surprized the many officers of the SC State Guard don’t have them.

Looks like he’s shooting daggers at the guy in the middle, the one with a little bit of a smile on his face, smiling at official functions must be bad protocol.
