(Charleston, South Carolina) “Today I ask all South Carolinians to stand with State Treasurer Curtis Loftis, who has once again been subjected to political attacks as he tries to do the job the people of South Carolina elected him to do. Treasurer Loftis has, from his first day in office, demonstrated the principles of hard work and good governance. He has demonstrated rare political courage in his efforts to bring transparency and accountability to state government.

“As a result of his efforts, the S.C. Retirement System Investment Commission, of which the treasurer is a member, voted to censure him. I join with Governor Haley in condemning the childish actions of the Investment Commission.

“If the poor performance of our investment funds were not enough, the actions of the Investment Commission today indicate a clear disrespect for taxpayers of the state and Treasurer Loftis. As the only elected member of the Investment Commission, Treasurer Loftis is executing his fiduciary duties to the people of South Carolina.

“We need less government not more. We need more transparency and accountability not less. The Treasurer should be commended not censured and I so commend him.”

This letter is proof enough why this woman will never be elected to Congress. Loftis is a fiduciary of the Trust fund but not to the taxpayers but to members of the retirement system only. Taxpayers have no say in this matter unless of course Moffly and her new best friend, Loftis, want to invest our money in something like indexed funds that are only expected to earn 6% over the long term. If that were to happen the taxpayers might be called upon to make up the difference and it wouldn’t be cheap.

Employees of the state just like you are taxpayers. You are right
in that they have very
little say in matters regarding the performance of the funds and or lack thereof, the Lamborghini driving executives, the hundreds of millions in fees paid and cloaked
in secrecy and least the billions in unfunded liabilities.

Curmudgeon, you are a woman hating fool. There are lots of women in the Congress. ,
There are lots of ways t make money and giving truck loads or retiree money to New York bankers ain’t one of them. Get your head out of your old craggy but and learn a thing or two. My investment beat the investment commission every year and the risk level is favorable.
PS Moffly is rising in the polls and don’t be surprised if she ends up in the primary.

Curmudgeon, you seem to be a mean, nasty old man. Do ou have medical issues? Lack of money? Inadequacies of another kind? Hate and bitchiness s do not look good on any one.
I applaud Ms. Moffly for speaking up for transparency and accountability. As a first district voter she just went to the top of my list.
