Our founding editor’s (video game) National Hockey League franchise captured its fourth consecutive Stanley Cup championship this week – defeating the (video) Pittsburgh Penguins in five games.
Is this achievement worth writing about? Hell no … we’re publishing this because we were ordered to do so.
Seriously, people … this is a video game. In fact it’s a three-year-old video game (which is like ninety-nine years old in video games years). EA Sports – which makes the NHL 11 title Sic Willie plays – has already disconnected the game from its online servers. Which means it’s dead.
Anyway, Sic Willie cheats the game by creating his own artificially superior players and removing salary cap restrictions – making it impossible for other teams to outbid him whenever top free agents become available. That’s why his roster more closely resembles that of an All-Star squad than a normal team …
Additionally the game’s controls are far too complicated for Sic to use manually – forcing him to engage the game’s “auto-aim” feature (among other “cheat” methods).
Pretty weak, huh?
Exactly. But because he is the ruler of all he surveys around here, “all hail Sic Willie, four-time Stanley Cup champion” (cough “loser”).

I have been playing Silent Hunter versions 2,3, and 4, for years now. SH 2-3, you are a German submariner sinking ships. In SH 4, you can be German or American, sinking Jap ships. Good battle re-enactments, big student on Pacific Theater WWII, personally.
I have one of those Nvidia GTX 690 dual video cards running on Intel i7 3770k CPU @3.50 GHz, 8g ram. PC desktop all the way, no gamebox’s for me. I do own 3 PS3’s, first generation, 80g, no patches, soon to parallel with Linux becoming a supercomputer. What a blast to max out the settings. I would put my rig up against any gamebox any day of the week. Oh, forget HD spin speeds, I have Corsair SSD drives. FAST, and the detail is awesome. Get one from Digital Storm and make it a business deduction for you web store owners out there.

SH 2,3,4 rule. Ever sink a 33 ton Jap Kongo Class battleship or Hiryu Class aircraft carrier with one torpedo?…at 5000 yards? Better than the skull candy people ingest to escape reality, and no side effects!
