Simple he is actually, and flagrantly I might add, violating the prohibition against dual-office holding. He not only serves on the SC State Board of Trustees, but also serves on the Savannah Maritime Commission as John Courson’s designee, AND serves on the Governors Savannah River Committee. He’s straight up triple dipping!

How many members of the present SC State Board are members of the NAACP? I.S. Leevy Johnson, a Toal do-boy if ever there was one – is a member of at least two all Black social clubs. I know Katon very well. He will do a great job legitimizing SC State if permitted to serve. I applaud him for running and am hopeful he will be elected.

SC State has always had “financial troubles”. It is a drain on the taxpayers who keep bailing the school out. If it were not a “historically BLACK college”, the state would quit funding this historically mismanaged college and it would be shut down. There was once a need for it when U.S.C., Clemson, etc., did not admit blacks. But now there is no need for this college. There are plenty of other respectable colleges within driving distance.
