I hope this passes. While this won’t totally remove politics from the S.C. National Guard, it will help. Electing our adjutant general keeps them in office long after they are too old to effectively run a military organization and causes stagnation when they keep their old friends on board long after they should have retired. Our current adjutant general is doing a great job, and fortunately he had the personal resources to run for the office without selling his soul for campaign contributions. I know that many nay-sayers will claim that the people should choose, but I wonder what percentage of our population has a clue as to what the adjutant general does and who he is.

He didn’t work hard to get elected….he ran unopposed! He had no competition….a baboon could have been elected with no one running against him! I had great expectations for this guy but he has sorely disappointed…..Not surprising for SC politics!
