Former S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford’s campaign took an interesting turn last weekend … into the wrong congressional district.
According to WCSC TV 5 (CBS – Charleston, S.C.) Sanford spent his Saturday making several campaign stops “in the first district” – including a visit to the fifth anniversary block party for The Barbecue Joint in North Charleston, S.C.
The only problem? The Barbecue Joint is located in the state’s sixth congressional district, which is represented by U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn.
Hmmmmm … is there something Sanford isn’t telling us?
Sanford has committed several unforced errors since officially announcing his return to politics earlier this year, however he’s still expected to make the GOP runoff for the first congressional district seat vacated earlier this year by Tim Scott, who was appointed to the U.S. Senate by Gov. Nikki Haley.
Can he win the GOP nomination though? That remains to be seen … one thing we do know is he doesn’t need to add a navigation problem to his preexisting trust problem. Remember what happened the last time this guy got lost …

Maybe he just wanted some BBQ on the campaign budget.

The 6th is a gerrymandered district. The BBQ Joint is in N. Charleston. There may have been more 1st district voters there than 6th. Sanfraud is a low life POS but I personally don’t see the big deal.

Patronizing and pandering idiots like Sanford and FITS are the reason we have fools like Clyburn in office for eternity….

So if Joe Wilson holds a fundraiser at the Palmetto Club, which also is in the 6th district, does that make him stupid? Oh wait, never mind.

Jenny said he was lost four years ago. Apparently the problem hasn’t been resolved.
But look, he’s got that fascinated look on his face that he reserves for Belen. Has she come to guide him home or is that her competition?

I’m sure there were a number of people at the block party from his district and others at the party likely have friends in his district. Besides what politician can resist a captive audience, not to mention so many people in one place he is bound to find friendly folks willing to contribute and any campaign can use more money.
