So said WPBH-TV weatherman Phil Connors in the side-splitting 1993 comedy Groundhog Day (a.k.a. the only movie in which South Carolina native Andie MacDowell is even remotely tolerable).
Of course that’s not all Connors said.
Unlike your typical plot which bends the space-time continuum, in Groundhog Day there were no great leaps forward or backward – no dramatic changes in scenery or circumstances – just one man stuck in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania condemned to repeat the same day over and over and over until he got it right.
Which obviously took some time.
In fact here’s Connors’ getting it very, very wrong.
Anyway, back in real life Punxsutawney Phil – the seer of seers, sage of sages, prognosticator of all prognosticators – emerged from his old oak stump at Gobbler’s Knob in that tiny Western Pennsylvania hamlet and did NOT see his shadow.
That means an early spring … assuming you believe oversized rodents are capable of predicting the future and communicating their clairvoyance to humans.

Commentary of the movie (that I think FITS has said is one of his favorites before) is a TRUE indicator of true Taste or not…
To me: anyone who lists this movie in the Top 500, is certainly an easily led person…It shows you cow-tow to the thoughts of others, w/o much ability to think for yourself…
You also lack in the ability to judge creativity, art or talent…
The move was more based on the popularity of Bill Murray than it was on any strong cinematic foundation…
