……….time to vote for a Democrat…..for a change
This is not a defense of the Governor, but the Department of Revenue answers to the Budget and Control Board, not the Governor. The Governor chairs the three-headed monster, but the board also includes two legislators and two “Constitutional Officers” who are technically part of the Executive Branch, but do not answer to the Governor.
The fix to this problem is simple: move all Executive Branch functions under the Governor, with the Legislature focusing on policy, not execution. The people should elect the Governor and Lt. Governor (on the same ticket), the Attorney General (the people’s lawyer), and an Auditor General (the people’s auditor). Everyone else in the Executive Branch should report to the Governor, and the Legislature should legislate and advise and consent.
Rev Dept does not answer to B and C Board…and the Board has five members, not three.
Gov does not need more under her as she cant handle what she has now.
In my opinion, your simple fix would plunge us into even more chaos than we are currently in. Ms. Haley could not manage her way out of a paper bag and serially continues to prove this. Until we elect some mature and responsible leaders we should not do this. Blame yourself. If you voted for Nikki Haley you voted for a clearly inexperienced politician with a poor management background. This should not be a surprise to you. It was obvious from the outset.
And by the way, the DOR does not report to the Budget and Control Board and never has. I get so tired of these simplistic minds that think there is a simple fix for the most complex of problems. Sorry, it just does not work that way. If you think there is a simple fix for the big questions facing government, you clearly don’t understand the problem.
^^^^^^ Nailed it.
not sure idiom is the correct word sir.
edit: strike idiom, add diatribe
