CALCULATING THE PRICE OF LILLIAN McBRIDE’S SILENCE

Richland County (S.C.) state lawmakers are pressuring local government officials to approve a buyout for embattled election commissioner Lillian McBride, sources tell FITS.  The buyout – calculated at roughly $178,000 up front (and $50,000 per year in perpetuity) – would enable McBride to qualify for full retirement benefits from the state.

She would also receive free health care from South Carolina taxpayers for the rest of her life.

Astounding, isn’t it?  If there was any justice in this world McBride would be facing a firing squad right about now … not being fitted for a”golden parachute.”

For those of you unfamiliar with her story, McBride is the puppet election director who oversaw last month’s “Richland County Robbery” – which we contend was a rigged election manipulated for the sole purpose of passing a $1.2 billion tax hike.

Two years ago, efforts to pass this tax increase in Richland County failed by just 600 votes – prompting Republican and Democratic state lawmakers to oust a 30-year election veteran and install McBride (who is all sorts of connected to the tax hike movement) as election director.

The result?  Mysterious shortages (and malfunctions) of voting machines in precincts that voted heavily against the tax increase two years ago – leading to seven hour wait times in some of these precincts.  These shortages and malfunctions resulted in widespread violations of a state law mandating at least one operable voting machine per every 250 registered voters.

Thanks to this illegal voter suppression, the sales tax hike passed by a 52-48 percent margin.

Having accomplished their heist, the robbers are now transitioning into the getaway phase.  Step one?  The release of an “official” report claiming a comparable number of voting machine shortages in pro-tax hike and anti-tax hike districts.  Of course this dubious report relied on data provided by McBride’s shady election commission staff and was conducted by The University of South Carolina – a government entity which stands to make at least $50 million off of the tax hike.

Step two?  Buying off McBride, it would appear …

Richland County leaders must reject efforts by state lawmakers to give McBride a “golden parachute.”  Furthermore we would encourage the managers of the state’s pension fund to block any payments to McBride associated with such a bailout scheme.

Finally, we would reiterate our call for a new election in Richland County – which is the only way to safeguard taxpayers as well as the integrity of our local democratic institutions.

“Until the results of that election are scrapped and a new election is held, there is no justice for Richland County taxpayers,” we wrote earlier this week.

The FBI should be investigating this entire episode.
It is a clear violation of the 1964 Voting Rights Law.
I guess it doesn’t apply if one particular group is in charge.

Particularly if the US Attorney General is a member of the “one particular group” as is the ‘local’ Congressperson…

There should be a wall between voter registration and actual voting. Duh. The conflict is obvious. So everything going back 23 years is suspect now, because she’s so ‘dumb.’ Humph. I guess we’re the dummies now.

If this goes through, we need to start a recall on every member of the delegation that supports it. The State is reporting that a majority of the delegation now believe that she should be fired.

Ms. McBride should be charged with a minimum of two state election law violations – both of which she is clearly guilt of.

There is no provision for recall in the SC Constitution.

I agree, but Rotsa Ruck with that scenario. If she violated state law (and it looks like there is at least “possible cause” so to believe) The Fifth Circuit Grand Jury ‘maybe ought to’ indict her – then she could be removed by the govern-ette.

Richland county taxpayers are going to be the ones getting the shaft here. And it does not look like it’s going to get better anytime soon. Democrats run the Mayor’s office, city and county councils.Time to bend over and grab your ankles : )

Our tax dollars for a golden parachute. She deserves to be fired and thrown from office without a parachute. Who is behind this non-sense? They need to be booted too for mis-appropriation of the tax-payers money. We the people need to get a better handle on our government officials. It’s obvious from this that they are not representing the people. They must be on McBrides side. Time for whoever they are to be booted as well, without any kind of parachute for a landing. It’s obvious that we have a problem with McBride. It is supported by the resignation of her assistant. Right now the truth is being covered up in the form of a buyout. Those supporting this buy-out know a lot more than what they are saying. My grandfather had a saying, “when it looks like it, smells like it, and taste like it, you can bet that is what it is.” This is exactly that!!!!

The math doesn’t add up, to get $50,000 she either is retiring with much more than 28 years since she just got a raise to $89K when she took the job and health care in retirement is not free, an individual has to pay ~100/mo for individual care and much more than that for a family, just saying you need to keep to the facts they’re bad enough without the hype. She should just be fired as anyone else would be without any buyout deal.

I recall reading here on FITS that after the election the indictments would start falling and all of these elected officials, poker barons and cops would start heading to jail.

And,,,,,,,,,,,ZIPPO.

The greeks, the Lebanese and the connected elected officials and judges keep on rolling. If you can’t beat em, join em baby!

For every machine they seize 10 more are installed. For Christ’s sake, they haul em around covered in tarps on pickups with liftgates. Does anyone pay attention to anything?

I sure am glad I don’t live in RICH-land County. Between her payoff, the extra ‘penny’ tax, the impending c5rash and burn of the Columbia Water/Sewer problems (increased fees for the citizens, and according to La Socialista this morning, proposed reductions for ‘industry’.

They are now beginning to live up to their name — one has to be RICH to afford to live there, and you better not own any LAND, or you won’t be able to afford the taxes.
