I am starting a Draft Nikki petition. We need to push her to appoint herself. Think of all the good she could do as a Senator. South Carolina deserves Nikki. She is the only politician with the support of the people.

Don’t think for one second that a deal has not already been cut. Demint would not have resigned without first lining up his successor. Most likely, Trey Gowdy, who could hold the seat. Tim Scott is a good second choice. Frankly, any of the R’s in the house would be good, even Joe “You Lie” Wilson.

All three are hoping it is them. But my gut tells me we now know why Glenn McConnell did not find a way to side step being Lt. Governor. I think McConnell will make a good Governor. I think Haley will make a good Senator. Just two concerns: our state’s top two constitutional officers will not have been elected statewide; and Haley needs to consider the history of Donald Russell.
That dude spent the rest of his life in the best possible place in the world…on a federal court bench where he was protected for the rest of his life. Thank God she is not a lawyer. But I know what you mean…political suicide
