Wanna Watch The ACC Championship Game?

YOU CAN! FOR LESS THAN THE PRICE OF A VALUE MEAL …

Like Barack Obama, the Atlantic Coast Conference looks like it’s going to have a hard time filling Bank of America Stadium …

The 73,788-seat facility – named after the bailed-out bank – will host the Atlantic Coast Conference football championship on Saturday.  That game features No. 13 Florida State (10-2, 7-1 ACC) versus unranked Georgia Tech (6-6, 5-3 ACC).  Except “features” is probably too complimentary a word.  Florida State and Georgia Tech are playing for the ACC title – and a trip to the 2013 Discover Orange Bowl, which has become slightly less competitive than the Poulan Weed-Eater Independence Bowl in recent years.

How uncompetitive?  Well, the last time we checked West Virginia’s offense was still scoring on Clemson.

Anyway, the ACC’s chronic lack of competitiveness was reinforced last weekend as its teams (including then-No. 10 Florida State and then-No. 11 Clemson) went 0-4 against their rivals in the mighty Southeastern Conference.

As a result, tickets to the ACC championship game have become about as sought-after as those toxic assets that the government bought from Bank of America.  In fact as of Tuesday morning a ticket to watch FSU versus Georgia Tech was selling on StubHub.com for just $4.00.

That’s right … four dollars.

By contrast, even the cheapest nosebleed seats at the SEC Championship game in Atlanta, Georgia are selling for more than $300 apiece.

Hmmmmm … maybe the federal government will bailout the ACC and purchase its”toxic assets.”  After all, when was the last time you can recall Washington, D.C. saying “no” to any spending request?

The ticket agency’s service handling fee is greater than the value of the ticket itself.

A guided tour of Bank of America Stadium, on a non-gameday when nothing is going on, is $5. So it will actually cost less to watch these two teams play for the “championship.”

If the current state of the ACC wasn’t bad enough, the fact that it will be a match-up between FSU and Georgia Tech is just pathetic. Those Seminoles will squash the Yellow Jackets.

Smirks: Word down at 202 Hampton Street in Columbia is that Lillian McBride is in charge of getting the officiating crew together. Jean Toal, Liz Crum, Darryl Jackson, Steve Benjamin and EW Cromatie have agreed to work it so far. Now, let’s see who places the highest bid….

@ johnson: O – MY – GOD!

As a 2nd thought, wouldn’t it be more fun if there were NO REFS OR UMPS?

Smirks, All they need to do is add Nathan Ballentine and they can use his head for the football!

The ACC is going to pay people to fill seats in the stadium?

Fan breakdown-

Florida State because of their loss to Florida and who wants to go to Charlotte, will buy tickets to the Orange Bowl-5,622

Georgia Tech who cares about them outside of downtown Atlanta, will buy tickets for Six Flags-1,291

Sponsor give away, which will count toward total attendance- 15,023

Attendance total-21,936 however, about 589 will walk in off of the street to see what is going on and take a free tour of the stadium.

Dear Fatty, when are you going to expose the proof you have of your affair with me?

How funny will it be if GT beats FSU and the mighty orange bowl will have a matchup of a team 7-6 vs. Kent state, that lost to Kentucky by 33 points. You know the BCS bowls are laughing at the Orange bowl now. “No really you can have the ACC champ, seriously we don’t want em. No really, it’s all good. I promise. The ACC is all yours.” It’s like being the skinniest kid at fat camp.

Why isn’t CNSYD defending his beloved conference? Why is so quiet these days? Because his team won’t back up the shit he talks? You betcha!

This is for the bloke who wrote this article. I can take the football humour and you right on that with FSU and GT, but what the hell does our POTUS have to do with any of this people.
The BOA Stadium was cancelled because of extremely bad weather and I was there so i know..and by the way the stadium would have been over packed with people which was projected in the 80,000 to 100,000 range. How would you like to have be out in the open with major lightening and thundering and torrential rain to electrocute everyone there? Come on people if you gonna talk football do football but get rid of your sly nasty political digs.

First time visiting FITS, James? Welcome.

As for your silly comment, they don’t cancel sporting events for what was predicted, much less what actually took place during the time Barry gave his speech. Are you saying sporting events are more important than a speech by Barry?
