South Carolina Department of Revenue Director Jim Etter has tendered his resignation to the governor after a massive security breach left millions of taxpayers’ information open to a foreign hacker.
Governor Nikki Haley announced Etter’s resignation Tuesday during a news conference about the hacking incident which compromised 3.8 million filers and 700,000 businesses.
“Jim and I came to an understanding that we need a new set of eyes on the Department of Revenue,” said Haley. “This was just the right time.”
Haley said Etter will work with the department until December 31 to help with the transition.
The scarey part is why would OSHA, the SEC or FTC need warrantless access to anyone’s email account? And it’s done without immediate notice to the owner of the account. (They can withold notice for up to a year).
So your email could be accessed by any of the 22 agencies and you would not know about it until after the deed is done. No warrant – no notice.

When will we quit eating the shit that politicians feed us?
Or better yet, when will we quit electing these shit-eating politicians?
I believe Fits is confusing this with The Patroit Act.
Fits is never confused, but always ready to hype.
Wonder where he was on Oct. 26, 2001? Was his head up Sanfraud’s ass yet?
Don’t bother FITS with facts.
They think they are entitled to your money, so why should they not be entitled to your e-mails?
At least some of the money they take from you help the cause.
Emails are putting real mail out of business. They probably want to get in on that.

….. then he is back at work as a “consultant” with a 50% pay increase.
