The Absolute Dumbest Thing You Will Read This Week

S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley is doing some damage control with members of the mainstream media this week in the wake of an unprecedented security breach within her administration – one that has exposed millions of South Carolina taxpayers’ personal information to cyber thieves.

And while the governor hasn’t called our founding editor yet, we’re sure it’s only a matter of time (after all, she’s got his number)

Anyway, the massive breach at Haley’s Department of Revenue (SCDOR) has resulted in the loss of 3.8 million Social Security numbers, 3.3 million bank account numbers, tax info for more than 650,000 businesses and nearly 400,000 credit and debit card numbers.

Ouch, right?

Indeed …

No other state in America has ever experienced a breach like this, but then again no other state is quite as “special” as ours.  And while preliminary damage estimates from the breach are already in the hundreds of millions of dollars, the top editorial writer at The (Columbia, S.C.) State newspaper thinks that’s a small price to pay for the rekindled relationship she’s having with the governor.

Cindi Ross Scoppe (a.k.a. “Pippi Wrongstockings) had this to say in her latest column …

I think it’s worth considering that this debacle really could be teaching our young governor those lessons that we all learn as we mature — if we don’t die first — about how much we don’t know, about not rushing to judgment, about the give-and-take of working with other people, about humility.

I don’t think I have the right to say that this crisis could turn out to be worth the cost, since many South Carolinians’ lives may be devastated by it, regardless of how much post-hacking protection our state provides. But if it truly is teaching our governor about the danger of overconfident certainty, then that will make her a better person, and a better governor. And that would be a silver lining for our state — which is something we certainly could use.

Is this woman for real?  Because what she wrote is almost as dumb as Haley comparing the breach to the state’s deadliest natural disaster, 1989’s Hurricane Hugo.

Guess these “pro-reform” gals gotta stick together, huh?

Seriously … if Haley was a white man the female-dominated S.C. press corps would have cut off her penis and fed it to her a long time ago.  But because the governor is a female minority, she gets to fuck up and lie about it to her heart’s content.

All while our state continues to suffer …
