GOVERNOR RIPPED FOR “OUTRAGEOUS” LINES, BROKEN VOTING MACHINES

S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley is being criticized for lengthy delays stemming from a shortage of operational voting machines across the Palmetto State.  The rampant Election Day problems – which have been especially pronounced in Richland County, S.C. (click here for more info on that) – have resulted in waiting times exceeding three hours.

Not only that, sources tell FITS that “droves” of voters have simply given up their attempt to cast ballots.

“Voters across the state face waits of three hours or more to cast a ballot in today’s elections due to lack of working voter machines,” S.C. Democratic Party chairman Dick Harpootlian said in a statement. “As a result, many South Carolinian’s are being deprived of a basic right of citizenship – the right to vote.”

Haley, a Republican, appoints all five members of the S.C. Election Commission (SCEC).

It’s been a terrible week for Haley on the technology front.  On October 26, her administration announced that computer hackers had obtained Social Security data for 3.6 million South Carolinians, credit and debit card information for nearly 400,000 Palmetto State residents and tax information for as many as 650,000 South Carolina businesses.

Haley initially claimed that nothing could have been done to stop the breach – and that South Carolina used “industry standard” protection measures to safeguard its data – although both of those claims later turned out to be false.

“On the heels of the announcement last week that Governor Haley’s administration had allowed computer hackers to access the records of several million South Carolina taxpayers, this (election gaffe) raises basic questions about the Governor’s competence to lead our state,” Harpootlian added.  “Nikki Haley allows thieves to pilfer our personal information and her election commission failed to provide a speedy way to vote.”

All the voting machines were probably hacked by Russians.

Seems slightly odd that all these problems are occuring in one of the more Democratic counties of the state, don’t ya think?

No problem at my solid Republican precinct. At least six iVotronics, less than 15 minutes wait at 10AM.

That’s a good one. A friend was asking me tonight how many times Willie whacked Nikki and I drew a blank, but figured it went on for a few months and so maybe 20, 30? Friend doesn’t read FITSNEWS and asked about who started what, so I say Nikki made out with Willie in her car one night and grabbed Willie’s balls, as I recall, then told Willie to drive someplace dark, as I recall, and then they got in the back seat (her car) and so forth and so on. But Nikki is sketchy on details like DOR internet hacking, house ethics rules, hiring her daughter for gift-shop work, and sleeping with other guys in hotels in Las Vegas (?). Whatever.

Yep, Nikki got a steaming load of “Steamboat Willie.”

Seems to me that it’s more of a problem with the LOCAL election commissions – specifically in Richland County. I mean, has Richland County ever run an efficient election?

Planning to vote on my way home and I’ve been told that it’s a 4 hour wait in my northeast Richland precinct. Not to totally absolve our governor but it sounds like Richland county has been particularly inept. Plenty of blame to go around.

There have also been problems with misinformation about voters in the database who moved moved from one town to another. One voter moved from Florence to Charleston, but the system shows the voter as having moved from Charleston to Florence. Some are worried it’s somehow connected to the security breach.

We were sent to three different schools and then to the voters registration office to hear that people were be “archived” (deleted)for not being an active voter. Apparently every four years is not active. It’s ridiculous the hoops you have to jump through just to exercise your rights. It took well over three hours and a half a tank of gas.

Whoa, whoa. There is no county anywhere more managed by DEMOCRATS than Richland County, SC. You can axe anyone in the County office building. At least 75% of the employees are related to someone by blood or marriage (another Democrat) in the county administration or city of Columbia administration.

The county election commissions are responsible for the screwy allocation of voting machines, not the governor.

Call your county election commission and let them have an earful. I’ll be surprised if this doesn’t somehow end in lawsuits.

Find out how many registered voters there are in your polling place, then divide by 250. There is BY LAW supposed to be one machine per 250 registered voters.

I have an idea. We could hire the hacker to come in and fix our problem with long waits in the lines to vote. I am sure this incredibly smart individual could come up with a fix that possibly involves electronic voting from home. The hacker is very knowledgeable about hacking so he would know how to protect our electronic votes.
It is unAmerican for us to have to wait hours in line to vote in this era of technologial advances, and especially when we all knew turnout was going to be heavy. We have to fix the problem so that we can all vote expeditiously in one day, or spread the voting out over more days. We have a right to expect that in SC, and in America.

This is a Richland County problem, not a state problem. Look at the precinct reporting map this morning. Half of Richland County stil has not reported but all of Greenville, Lexington, and most other counties have reported. How come they can do it but not Richland?

With Romney gone, her ass is grass. She was nothing to start with and she is even more worthless this morning after her pal Romney was defeated.

How many more mediocre, uninspiring GOP governors can this state take before we go off the cliff?

Isn’t he working in Washington doing research on environmental issues?

He is a mdoerate. He has no future here. I do like him.

Until SC decides moderation is OK, we will continue to be different from the rest of the country, and we will not thrive/advance.

Obama’s win is one helluva slap in the face to SC politics. We have to change. It can be done incrementally. We must grow or be left for dead.

Yes

I read recently he is working on some market based “Climate Change” project

SC needs to bring in dog & horse racing, eliminate the IRS based tax system and get rid of the “stuck in the 1950’s” mentality of so many in this state for sure.

For me, I’m all for “stuck in 1968 – 1974 Rock & Roll” era/lifestyle/mentality myself…….

As much as I’m a fan of “Leave It To Beaver”; those days (and that illusion) is over.

A vicious snarl burst forth from her well-fed gullet. “I didn’t even win Aiken County?!? How I am supposed to show my face at the grocery store?” Indeed, from the perspective of a Southern Republican, Dee Dee Vaughters had run an exemplary campaign. From baseless allegations of sexual impropriety to implications of financial wastefulness, DeeDee had flung many cartloads of manure. But now all that was left was her filthy hands and a short trip into the annals of history all while the rigors of menopause took their toll on her portly frame. And oddly enough, Nikki Haley wasn’t taking her phone calls either.

At least she now finally had the answer to her weeks long question. Nikki Setzler never debated her because he didn’t need to. Despite the endorsement of the Governor, thousands spent in advertising, and numerous tasteless, tacky, and crass cartoons, he won anyway. “What ever happened to vagina power?” she thought with a miserable grimace. She frantically shoveled cake into her jiggling jowls as she tried to fight off the feeling of utter irrelevancy.

It wasn’t supposed to be this way. From the start her campaign seemed like charming adventure. She had a neat theme song, a slick website, and even gave interviews in front of gun counters. But in the end, all that was left was the deep self-loathing that had once again worked its tendrils into her twisted psyche. As the warm urine splashed all over her mascara streaked face, she looked at her husband with sad, baleful eyes. “Piss on me. It’s all I am good for.”
