I don’t believe anyone is being forced to participate, it’s a pure luxury. If you can’t afford it, quit. If the Gamecock club runs out of willing “buyers” it will lower prices. They obviously don’t believe that will happen. It is, in fact, a perfect example of the “free market”, thank you very much.
I hate to be “that guy” but they continue to sky rocket prices. $60 this weekend to see them play 4-5 Arkansas.
I somewhat agree Thomas, $60.00 for a losing record team out of division is high, but that ticket was priced before all the stuff went down in Arkansas. It could have been 2 division leaders if we (I am a gamecock) didnt lose 2 and the Arkansas coach kept it in his pants (or at least out of the news). If that would have happened $60.00 would have been a goof/fair price. How crappy does that sound? fair ticket prices now for $60.00
Exactly my point. I would doubt if you will have to pay anything close to 60.00. Tickets for Tenn. were going for 10.00 or less. See Croon, the “free market” at work for you. A beautiful thing.

I am not bemoaning the free market at work in this situation. In fact, I have found that if you are willing to pay for the privilege you can actually sip on a cold beer while watching the Cocks do battle from a climate controlled environment within the stadium itself! And to think I used to have to sneak in a plastic flask of rum to mix with a Coke. Yuck.
Agreed. I especially like the tiny cans of grapefruit juice and cranberry juice in the fridge. The only inconvenience is going over on Fridays to restock the locker.
The Zone is a wonderful place, especially now that they got rid of Tronco’s catering. Southern Way is doing a good job, with the exception of maybe the UT game. Hopefully we only went back to hot dogs and cold chicken tenders just for one game. Got to love the lockers!

Enjoy those cold chicken fingers and barely food grade hotdogs in The Zone. $850 per seat seat license ($121 per game) buys a lot better food than chicken fingers and hotdogs.
yea we had those horns way before the worldcup, collecting cups after the game only to be told by my dad u are not bringing that nasty stuff in the car,and who can forget Big Spur the orginal mascot, oh yes the George Rogers song as well.
