OUR WEEKEND AGENDA? LEAF PEEPING AND ANTIQUING

What does the state of South Carolina’s most notorious political animal do on the weekend before a major election?  Leaf-peeping and antiquing, of course.

Will Folks (a.k.a. Sic Willie) will be out of pocket this weekend as he and his lovely wife travel to Black Mountain, N.C. for some fall fun (bow chicka wow wow).  This area has always been very special to Sic as he grew up attending church retreats at nearby Montreat, N.C. – home of evangelical icon Billy Graham (who is, amazingly, still alive).

And no, this handsome little devil (a.k.a. Phillippe Randolph Folks) won’t be tagging along on this trip … nor will any other wild and crazy pint-sized ragamuffins.

“Awwwww,” right?  Yeah, he’s cute …

Anyway, FITS will be back in the saddle late Sunday … at which point you can enjoy our wall-to-wall Election 2012 coverage (and our ongoing coverage of Nikki Haley’s “Epic Hack” scandal).

It’s okay. The Grahams have declared that the Mormans aren’t a cult. Bob Jones is still firm in his conviction that the Catholics are, however. So too bad , Ryan and Biden, it is what it is.

I’m older than you, G’ville Lawyer and you, Bonheifer (pardon the pun), I remember the day when Mormonism, Catholicism, and Judaism all qualified for the pits of hell.

Voila! Now Joseph Smith is no longer a swindler, St. Peter is heralded and acknowledged by Protestants and Catholics a Saint, and Israel holds the U.S. government by the nuts. I’m not sure how many wives Brigham Young had and whether he was given a free pass from hell or not.

Billy Graham, one of the most respected men in my life and memory has finally admitted to being not a non-partisan observer and counselor, but a full-throated Republican.

Mike Huckabee has finally acknowledged that fundamental Baptist doctrine teaches that only Republicans can be Christians in the eyes of the Lord.

Next, we’ll learn that William Jefferson Clinton was a fornicator and a sexual deviant….cigars and 22 year old college graduates. Hell, he was more moral than J. Strom Thurmond who fixed on Nancy at an earlier age (back then it was missionary style, not “blow jobs.”), and before her Graduation, but after her Coronation.

To start fresh takes years and years of inside knowledge and trusted relationships….seems Sic has this going for himself…besides, I can not fault anyone his age to be involved in politics since he learned from the best and worst…Reagan/Bush, Clinton/Gore and still has a compass the points north.

I can see he is fighting off the evil suggestions his teachers and the media as well as prime time TV programming tried to implant in his impressionable mind…and now making it known to all the world that it is okay to be American!

I really am not too happy with the press in South Carolina in particular. Any standing The State had was vanquished when McClatchy took it over. The Post and Courier ib Charleston really did it for me. They took part in back stabbing their own reporter, printed false stories, failed to print factual follow ups to stories that have a direct bearing on corruption in the highest offices in South Carolina. I submit Harrel and his influence.

FITS, and I think that stands for “First In The South”, is part of a growing and influential group of online citizenry I call “Netizen’s”. These professionals, well educated, been around the block in their particular fields offer blogs with real reporting supported with real facts. They are a growing threat to the “organized” media we have in South Carolina.

Case in point, The State says this in today’s digital content:

“Each day, we provide authoritative, trusted journalism based upon professional, verifiable, fact-based reporting. That commitment is undiminished by the passage of time. It is at our core. It is our hallmark.

But how we deliver news and information changes as we deploy new technologies to meet the evolving expectations of our customers and our community.

Our news-gathering team is the largest in the area. By far. The quality content they produce is available on newsprint, in magazines, on websites and by mobile devices such as smart phones and digital tablets. Over the course of a week, we reach more adults in the Midlands than any other local news source. By far. We believe our work is important. We believe it has value.”

Here, they are saying that they will install a Pay Wall to access their digital content effective next month. The people are wise to their shenanigans as far as NOT reporting stories that have direct impacts in the direction our state is going.

I have several methods to monetize digital content providers whom do not take orders from politicians, police departments, federal authorities, rather provide fact supported ongoing news stories that expose corruption and real time positive efforts to make our state better.

I look forward to embrace the efforts of all bloggers in such a way as to support them, to get the news out, and to start a new era in how people on and off the net get their news and information to make proper decisions about their representatives, their government, their tax dollars.

Yes, there is room in the pond. There is also congratulations that should be given to the fish already in the pond. All are making a difference.

You are right about the electors for the Federal election part of the state governed voting procedures.

The part I have a problem with is the chain of custody for ballots already cast either electronic or paper.

Am I do understand that the chain of custody stems from the Federal Code of Regulations or some other source I am not familiar with.

From the Western Center For Journalism dated April 10,2012 we see,”When the Spanish online voting company SCYTL bought the largest vote processing corporation in the United States, it also acquired the means of manufacturing the outcome of the 2012 election. For SOE, the Tampa based corporation purchased by SCYTL in January, supplies the election software which records, counts, and reports the votes of Americans in 26 states–900 total jurisdictions–across the nation.

As the largest election results reporting company in the US, SOE provides reports right down to the precinct level. But before going anywhere else, those election returns are routed to individual, company servers where the people who run them “…get ‘first look’ at results and the ability to immediately and privately examine vote details throughout the USA.” In short, “this redirects results …to a centralized privately held server which is not just for Ohio, but national; not just USA-based, but global.””

So if our SCDOR being hacked is any indication, chain of custody with electronic ballots cast, paper ballots being misplaced, not counted, is there any reason to believe that our election process for early voting, even election day voting, is fraught with possible corruption?

Yes

Hopefully, Thomas, we can have the House, Senate and White House…and Rule in accordance w/ the Constitution…and maybe appoint (and confirm) judges like that too..

I think we all learned a lesson about going easy on the left, like Bush had a tendency to do…it cost the country and the GOP….

We must Show No Mercy…and Follow the rule of law…and the GOP will get re-elcted over and over…

Either that, or the party crashes and burns (see present-day Obama, Pelosi, Reid)….

Why can’t we be just Americans? Why do we need a label to alienate us from one another like — oh, I don’t know — Republican, Democrat, Tea Party, liberal, conservative, etc. etc.

This alienation is killing our country. We are too divided. And we all know the mantra — “united we stand, divided we fall”. We are headed straight there.

Until we all grow up, stop acting like childen in a sandbox and learn to reach out to one another instead of putting labels on one another that put us in boxes, the country and we as a people will continue to suffer and to go further downhill. (You do remember the Roman Empire don’t you?)

If this is the generation I have begat, then I’m really sorry.

Current Republicans don’t like people voting. The more people who vote the more they lose. This year they have undertaken historic efforts to suppress voting by people they perceive will not vote for them. Primarily, African Americans and Latinos. In truth they have been very successful in a number of states.

Winning elections this way is Un American, but it is what it is. Its important for these groups to understand what has happened and what party is trying to keep them from having a voice in the election process. That way as their numbers and political power grows, and it will, they will know who to blame.

The Republican leadership is desperate about this election, because they know the economy is recovering and they know that unless they defeat Obama this time, Obama will get credit for bringing the country out of the recession they caused. This will likely set up another Democratic win in 2016. Which could mean they are out of the White House for 16 years.

This further worries them, because during that time there will see a significant shift in the demographics of this country. By the year 2024, the groups that do not typically favor Republicans will have grown significantly in numbers and political power. Particularly so in Florida, Virginia, Texas, Arizona and Colorado.

The parties dramatic shift to the right and their high percentage of racists makes them unappealing to minorities; and their belief in a male dominated society makes them unappealing to younger women.

As a small business owner who employes other people, I fail to see how I am a taker. Do you own a business? Do you employee people? If not I guess by your own definition you are a dumb, lazy taker.

As for Hate. I think everyone on both sides need only review the record to see who spews hate in ever post.

Finally, restricting early voting times and causing people to wait in line hours to vote in democratic leaning districts has nothing to do with people voting more than once. It is simply voter suppression. If it works it works. Again, the groups it effects simply need to fully apprised as to who they should blame, as their political power grows.

Truth sometimes hurts.
